Some old timers still resist/do not want to use 3rd party app,like GT,ET and Uber to boost their earnings. Ever since these appear on the market,CDG call bookings has dropped more than 50 %. The hottest one at present is UberTaxi, px 1st time use get foc ride.

Really??? Me not old timer but did not use 3rd party apps leh... no wonder I can't make 10k per month... haiz...need to retire liao loh....
But before I retire, can you tell me how much more can those who use 3rd apps make??

I try to use. But their calls all put aeroplane. No show some more all lousy places or far away.

Standard lah. those smelly pax kena BL by comfort... lan lan switch to apps luao peak time everywhere boom off peak time? Et, gt or uber also no sound...

i encounter one cheapskate....refuse to pay booking charge
she say : uber staff told her uber taxi cheaper than uberX...no booking charge!!
(uberX dun have any booking & other surcharge!!)
call uber staff...they also told me not to collect booking charge n will get back to me next day!!
lan sai...till now no body call me at all!!
i have to e-mail them n follow up must email them the trip detail
then can refund my $3.30 booking charge!!(still hav'ent email them the detail)
this type of pax....better go n take MRT!!

In a personal perspective, it is not wrong to say CDG calls drop by at least 50% if one use apps !
My CDG monthly levy used to be between $36 ~ $40 per mth
Every since use apps , pay less than $18 per mth !

but overall income still increase due to the incentives
if on the floor, you see $3.30 and $8.30 which one you pick up ?

Yalor, i use grab to call taxi, less than 5min can get a cab...
Call cdg, something need 10min than can comfirm a cab...
Than alway come a white merc and to re book again....

Gentlemen, be wise lah, whether it is grab or cdg calls, it goes into the same pocket, different operators only, Temasek holding is still the boss of all these, Singapore state corporation likes to use own subsidiaries to compete among themselves, not only it generate profit, but provide a fake platform of open market competition..UNderstand BO. So, in a nutshell, what is grabtaxis trying to achieve, it try to achieve a far outreach than it cdg call and local taxis markets, with it, it can venture into weaker 3rd world taxis system like malaysia, indonesia and most of our neighbour countries taxis calls, by using cdg, it is offensive as cdg is more of a Singapore taxis, so by using Grab, it open up the market. Locally, it will not kill cdg calls, but it will definitely kill off TC, Silver and others local taxi companies calls, that is the local motive. And along it also must accept Uber and Easy into the market inorder to show an open market economy. Nevetheless, we as Taxis drivers, careless what you drive, it is a benefits and a gain for some, as for cdg drivers, if you are just a partimers, you can stick to cdg calls, but if you are a full timer, Grab or easy is good to extend your scope of earning. We, as TD of Singapore, must therefore stand as one regardless of what cab you drive, and whoever think that this call or that call is good for him, take it, just like a buffet, with more call dishes, take your pick, but to take all and compare, it can be too tedious, you cannot eat all the buffet, can you?

apps is one thing.. I'm surprised more driver dun even know how many different type of payment their taxi can support... everything i asked to tap my credit card instead of slotting it in the reader, they'll ask.. huh can like tat one arh...

Most TDs are born in the time of typewriter periods, as such, most have a habit of liking direct contact reaction, at any one time, most would prefer cold hard cash. But time had changed, from Smartphone to nets, flash, ezylink, manhatten, Amex, master, JCB, BOC, dinner..and so on, some of us might not be fast enough to catch up with it, even today hp can do air touch, so to speak. Therefore, be patient, we are afterall, not IT or banking professional but TD trying to do a favor for the cards company and their customers a decent service.

Same mah, i go around CBD one hour, also cannot find pax...you want me to take call and go up ah shun si bo?? mai lah, better Q at PCCW drink kopi, eat my kaya loti..see chio bu walk ki kok ki kok go work, PCCW sure got auditors going to senoko or jurong one...then maybe I take some calls there
