REX cinema in CBD?

  Ask yourself, how you get to rex cinema, do you need to go thru an ERP gantry? Is there a way to get into Rex cinema from Bukit timah road or mackenize road or sophia road?

  Using your logic, then Mackenize road and Mayne road are in CDB since you need to go thru an ERP gantry to reach these roads. Is this true?

  At Rex Cinema you could do a left turn to Niven Road and you are still in CBD without need to go through ERP gantry. Hence Rex Cinema is within CDB.

  Mackenzie and mayne ....without ERP, can you get to these road from Bukit Timah?? if so, consider CBD? Correct...Rex and Niven all within CBD, this you hv answered yourself. You see brother, I can tell you rex is under CBD straight away, but many end up still asking, so we use the logical thinking to comprehend it is better, because like this, we learn, you learn and all of us learn, and that is what learning is all about, such learning open up yr thinking, and you will remember forever unless the cb LTA change ERP again. Same goes to my Staffs and childrens, I rather give them a rod than to fish for them. But when I apply it to my lau char bo wife, she alway shout at me

  Triple One Somerset, Singapore Power Building in CBD right?  I can come by Killiney Rd, then pick up at Exeter Rd side.  No ERP what. Can charge CBD?

  Rex cinema got front and back, so it depend where you pick your pax. Killiney got CBD meh? Anyway, if dunno got surcharge or not, charge first, later kenna complaint, drink kopi, apologise, said you really dunno, and give back lor, but if pax bo chap type...then tiam tiam keep it to yourself lor. Drive smart mah...but SMART close down liao

  Hey, why got so much time to lim kopi  and talk cock one? I stepped on pedal almost non-stop except for small pee breaks and a 10-15 min lonely kopi break. Night shift need to make the most of the "Golden Window", not talk shop.

  I think drive taxi no need networking one lah, you are not in MLM or in a real biz. Like talk  better.

  The question is whether REX cinema in CBD? The answer : No, it is not in CBD area.

  Then the question is which area can we charge the CBD surcharge around Rex cinema?

  The answer is where you pick up the pax lor..

  1. Selegie Rd - Yes, CBD surcharge applicable - Obviously...

  2. Mackenzie Rd - Me confuse... According to the map, it can be intepreted as Yes or No

  3. Rochor Canal Rd - No, No CBD surcharge - Obviously...

  Based on the map, can anyone explain whether we can charge CBD surcharge if we got the pax at Mackenzie Rd (meaning at the front entrance of the cinema)?

  Mackenzie rd before Niven rd is CBD so can charge. Behind at Bukit timah, not CBD.

  Along Selegie after Mackenzie junction, not CBD.

  The whole of Selegie Rd is in CBD surcharge area..

  It is the moment you turn into Mackenzie Rd... Is it still in CBD area???

  Sorry but don't know how to upload the map which i download from Comfort... The more i see the map, the more i find it fishy...

  So based on the map, the red line (indicating CBD area), Niven Rd is in CBD boundry, but not Mackenzie Rd...

  Mackenzie Rd is a road for us to take if we still want to stay within the CBD boundry... ie.. From Selegie rd (CBD boundry), turn into Mackenzie Rd (Dunno whether CBD boundry or not), then turn into Niven Rd (CBD boundry)...

  So the question again is if we pick paxs at Rex cinema entrance (Mackenzie Rd), can we apply the CBD surcharge??

  Aiyo, what so complicated, tell me, do you need to go thru a ERP before turning from selegie into mackenzie road?? Niven road from sophia road??? Yes, and when you turn for example into bencoolen, you hit the ERP, turn right middle road, turn right again into selegie, turn left into mackenzie to reach the front of Rex ticketing counter (my former gf ice kating ring) If a pax want to board your cab at Rex ticketing side, tell him CBD charge apply, if he not happy, then fark off, now during peak period in the evening after dropping pax and with no pax, do you think you go straight out into mackenzie or mayne road, you sure to turn into Niven road back to sophia back to CBD ..tio bo??? Unless you drive like a mad dog...with no time to network, TCSS, then I hv no said. Final answer, half of mackenize road is under CBD. And logic will tell you that if Rex got no CBD, lots of cheapo will be there waiting for cab..just like bukit timah road

  I've called and customer service officer said no. The Rex cinema entrance is not applicable for the CBD surcharge.

  Maybe some can call other taxi company to confirm?

  Double confirm.. Cannot charge CBD surcharge at Rex cinema entrance... From 2 reliable sources...

  Guys, pls take note... From the source, Mackenzie Road and Rex cinema is not in CBD boundary..

  Diablo9898, you are right, thanks. I got confused by the damn Mighty Mind map which drew the line wrongly.

  Lta map shows whole of Mackenzie Rd outside CBD, whole of Selegie Rd inside CBD, whole of Niven Rd inside CBD.

  So pick up pax in front of Rex is along Mackenzie Rd, confirmed outside CBD.

  No lah.. will still pick them lar... just don't charge them CBD surcharge lor... Just wanna confirm that CBD surcharge is not applicable at Mackenzie road that's all... Cause the map is confusing and plus the advices here is base on logic.. So call up LTA and Comfort to check lor...Then pass on the info to all to prevent unnecessary trouble over a mere $3...

  Road turn in from selegie into mackenzie road is a one way road, after mayne road it become a 2 ways road, you tell me, how can you get to REX cinema front side without going thru a ERP? So, if you pick up a pax just after mackenzie and before end of selegie road into serangoon road during evening peak period, you add surcharge or not? As what bro Elg said, rex is not under CBD, who would want to go there and pick? sure to whack niven road up back into city. Ani kuan kong, I charged a few times bo tai chi..must be damn heng...but I did told the paxs on surcharge, they just gong gong and nod head only, must be no taxis there.
