No need to use such assumption. Taxi companies and LTA have the statistics on the number of trips each day. taxi available rates and taxi hired rates.If these taxi available rates and taxi hired rates can further breakdown into locations and period. Then you would have a better view where taxi not enough is only happening at so locations at some specific period.
Why TD want to hide when they can easily get a pax? TD no need to pay rental, no need to money to eat?

Simply implement the following will do & solve the taxi issues in whole SG:
1. Cease all surcharge except the airport
2. Centralise the booking for all taxi & send signal to the nearest empty taxis.
3. Fix the demerit points for booking rejection per year & implement the benefit systems for drivers accordingly
4. Fine tune the change shift system
5. Remove the manual change of busy sign & it should to control by centalise system and not by drivers
6. Remove the ERP for taxis
7. Minmum travel on road should be tie up with the trips only with passengers & remove the current empty ride
8. Reduce the rental
9. Fine tune the reporting system for non stop when commuter flag
10. Allow taxis to use bus lane & remove the designated pick up & drop off points
respective government ppl can think & solve the issues?

Cannot, in the eyes of respective govt insitutions, Taxi driving in Singapore is a private entity, it is no more a state own entity. Therefore to create a centralise system is beyong any open market concept, by which, in Singapore, whereby we embrace free trade, should not be so centralise and allow no flexibility, it should be diverse and allow flexibility inorder to consider as an open market economy. The authority must therefore encourage more taxi players into the market to create a competitive and yao society, incentives such as surcharges are critical in any business so as to align itself to the demand and supply chain. eg, like resturant charging high on weekends and dinner. As our economy move up the value chain, we, as shown recently, lost our manufacturing effectiveness, but gain on our Service sector especally on Data and financial sectors, this alone had bought in more wealth to locals and also more rich flocking to our land including facebook owner. Therefore, we see a change in our demographic in way of highter disparity in income, from poor locals to super rich ones who can even buy europe football club. Thus, taxi industrial player including TD must know who are their pax today..and truly ask yourself, is surcharges going to effect them, or that our Taxi fare in singapore is a 3rd world standard plying on a 1st world land. If you do not know your customers, you dunno nothing of your business.

What are the location surcharges now?
1. Changi Airport.
2. MBS.
3. RWS.
4. Seletar Airport.
5. Singapore Expo.
6. Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
7. Gardens By The Bay.
Dun talk about Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal cos that one for Prime Taxis only. lol.
1,2 and 3 are the main locations that taxis go to. Remove 4 to 7 also make no difference to taxi driver lah...Let the pax there go and rot lah...
Remove CBD and peak hour surcharge, then all hell break loose. Good luck trying to get a cab in the evenings.

Basic thing is currently taxi drivers more enough to cover their rental & other taxi related expences due to high peak hour surcharges and etc perks. Thats why they don't have hungry and they choose their time to drive & choose the passenger too & on the manual operating busy indications frequently too. Also they do change system & made $ from it too. You can see many taxis sleeping at HDB carparks nowadays. So the govt to interfere and set the centralise system. PAP has full majority at parliment & can do any in a day or two when they decide.

They sleep in the taxi becos they are overwork & tired,休�是为了走更长的路.Do you know in recent years,there are so many taxi drivers died in the taxi not becos of traffic accident but becos of heart attack and other unknown cause.

well i believe it's best to judge is that you work as a TD, else talking is cheap. no point for you talking all sorts of holy crabs here too.

I have personally witnessed a green lantern stopped for a pax, wound down his window, then pax asked if got go to his destination. The TD shook his head and just sped off.
My wife also ever kena at taxi stand. Taxi stopped. Before she and my daughter can open the door, the taxi suddenly sped off. Luckily she was not holding the door handle tightly. Bloody CCB Red gangster.

Yes, I experienced that before at chinatown, I was visiting my bak bak, hv a few drinks, then we decided to go joo chiat, stopped a red wish, knn, peak period hor, just ask roll down window, hear destination, sped off liao...not even said anything...phuixxx..at least said, Sorry, not on the way, knnccb, cannot open the bloody damn mouth,..then my bak bak said, maybe his teeth rotten..so no choice,..walk back kong siak street, book a room -

My bak bak ok lah, just a bit bak chai bak chai..but to any younger TDs..maybe a be too old for them, but limpek ching chai one..just whack only..pok pok till next morning, seibei tired..hirer called me..why no sms him in confirming taking over the taxis..lols. I told him, I driving cement truck now

I don't know why the following sceanrio quite frequently on the road.
any TD can explain:
1. All the way taxi coming with green TAXI light, when commuter wave their hand,
suddently it will turn to red BUSY light & ignore the passenger.
2. All the way taxi coming with Red BUSY light, when commuter wave their hand,
suddenly it will turn to green TAXI light & pick the passenger.
first will happened quite frequently & continuously but the second will happened very rarely.

1. Taxi Green light changed to Busy. Cos suddenly got Grab taxi, Easy Taxi Call. So must respond and take call lor. Why you so cheepo? Go and call a cab lah.
2. Taxi Busy changed to Green. Cos got stupid pax suddenly cancel call after booking. So becomes green again lor. Don't be stupid hor.
