  康�德高昨天�表文告说，�为Mobileye的新智能摄�机拥有38度广角，安装在德士仪表�上。一旦德士在行驶中太�近其他车辆或行人，电眼侦测到�会�出警报声，�时会按照交通情况显示代表车辆或行人的信��，通过�时的声�警告系统，�醒德士�机眼�的�险路况，�时�出�应。

  圆形的电眼�幕�显示车��离�与行人或脚�车骑士碰撞�车辆�部碰撞�车�检测和�速指示5�警告讯�。

  康ç¦�德高德士业务总è£�æ�¨ä¸‡æˆ�说：“德士å�¸æœºæ—¥å¤œåœ¨è·¯ä¸Šå¥”波，这个仪器å�¯è¯´æ˜¯å�¸æœºçš„‘å�¦ä¸€å�ªçœ¼’，å��助他们观察环境，å�Šæ—¶æ��醒他们å�±é™©ï¼Œé¢„防交通æ„�外å�‘生。”

  �了解，有越�越多汽车制造商和物�公�使用这类智能电眼。

  康ç¦�德高去年底，为旗下1万6600辆德士陆续安装140度焦è·�镜头电眼，ä¿�障德士å�¸æœºçš„安全，也å�¯åœ¨å�‘生交通纠纷时电眼也å�¯å�‘挥作用，阻å�“乘客试图æ�­“霸王车”的事故å�‘生。

  文告说，两�电眼�共��挥作用，加强德士�机的驾驶安全。

  �外，新��也将与工会�作，在旗下30辆巴士上安装试用这款智能电眼。

  Touch wood, recently, Lta with a statistic of accident rate... told taxi companies that there is a huge increase in taxi accidents, be it self desruction or other faults, there is a need for taxi drivers, who ply the road all day long to be more vigilant. This is not good news for taxi companies, why? because insurance is good to increase more and more, the term of references on why accident rate increased, be it minor or major are as follow 1. Drivers getting older (night vision poor, reaction also poor) 2. High Horse power auto taxis (zoom zoom) 3. 250km per shift, tiring taxi drivers 4. High cost of living leading to Taxi drivers plying on the road longer for survivor 5. Paxs flag down taxis at dangerous location 6. Most modern taxis lack rear vision, lots of blind spot 7. Rental and fuel too high leading to adding pressure at taxi drivers 8. Grab, easy and GPS led to taxi concentration lost by keep viewing or listening to gadgets 9. Taxi drivers health deterioriate faster than many other trade leading to suddenly black out, stroke, tireness etc 10. Too many gadget from MDT to cashless terminal to few hp, talkies, gps, ipad, tabs... Do you know what will happen when cdg add in all these gadgets as shown above, there will be more sensor, more indicator...end up taxi driver become airplane pilot, so many gadgets to press and key...phuixxx... Cdg adding all these is to hold the insurance, please LTA and perhap increase rental, at the end of the day, drivers the end user will suffer. You all must understand that what you are paying rental down include the high COE, insurance and nearly all the gadgets provided by yr taxi companies

  Comfort Taxi Drivers
  Now Have A New ‘Third Eye’,
  Making Roads Safer Than Before

  n January, Comfort announced that they will be fitting a ‘Third Eye’ to their cabs in the form of a security camera, to help record information for investigation in case of an accident. Now, ComfortDelGro is taking another step in improving road safety for both cab drivers and pedestrians on the road! Since 18 August Monday, the largest taxi operator have been looking into a new in-vehicle smart camera that can alert cab drivers to potential road hazards.

  According to an article on Channel NewsAsia, there will be a six-month trial testing the efficacy of the 38-degree wide-angle smart camera, known as Mobileye,  across 30 ComfortDelGro taxis. Situated at the front windshield of the vehicle, the smart camera will make sense of various traffic signs while the vehicle is in motion. It will act on the risks associated with the surrounding traffic environment and produces real-time audio-visual warnings via a 49mm round-shaped display unit to drivers.

  For example, if the device detects that the vehicle is keeping close to another vehicle or pedestrian, cab drivers will be alerted with a beep sound, accompanied by a flashing icon of a car or pedestrian.

  Thanks to Mobileye‘s proprietary technology, it keeps pedestrians safe on the roads, reduces the risks of road accidents, and saves lives by anticipating possible collisions on the road. This technology is enabled by the object detection algorithm conducted by a monocular camera configuration. Dedicating more than 15 years of research and development and data collected from millions of driving experience, Mobileye’s significant contributions in technology market has earned itself the position of a technological leader.

  Mr Yang Ban Seng, CEO of ComfortDelGro, spoke to Channel NewsAsia and comments that this device acts as “third eye” for our cabbies, who spend most of their days and nights on the road. The primary function of Mobileye is to help our cabbies stay vigilant on the road, for fear of potential road hazards.

  Mr Pek Ban Choong, a ComfortDelGro vetaran cabby concurs with Mr Yang’s views. He personally believes that the device will be a useful tool to keep him out of danger on the road. While it is a good idea to rely on the “third eye” for assistance, the driver should remain alert to his surroundings – basic ethics of a good driver, right?

  This are all for publicity lah, taxi drivers very easily tio con one, give them some limelight only, they can tell you driving taxis is the best job in singapore...phuixxx Limpek drive 30 years, touch wood, except those minor kerb hit, what accident you talking abt, if you are those kan chiong type, no patience type, die die must win type of drivers, give you a full guided IT tools also you will end up bang bang lah.

  Then I go ask the airport lau marshal, why they reject my cab? or you pple recommend them limo?? Marshal replied, Uncle, cool down, to be frank, they did not mind your sampan cab, sampan cab is still use in many asian countries and in malaysia, indo and pinoy, their cabs are more worst. What they dun like is your taiko face..hope u dun get angry. (*%^$*(8fark(*&$#@#^&*8ccbb!!!
