Punggol at 10 pm on Fri Sat night no paxs???? U sure or not??? Even if really suay no paxs at Punnggol, I would go to Hougang or AMK, definately not town, at 10 pm.
Sembawang, this one i no comment, but if really kena.. just drive up to upper thomson towards thomson then either balestier or newton..Who knows along the way you might have 1 pax...

Newbies of cos will start abit blur …but no sooner, he or she will hv his or her own way of driving, it will ultimately, become a habit and a pattern, even start cab go out carpark only, if the habit is turn left, it will alway turn left naturally, unless got one pax going AP on the right..
It's not a matter of argue or not lah... you know lah..
Actually it is not got pax or not, but what kind of returns or yield at a particular time and place. CDB, you get the surcharge and usually longer distance trip to home. Heartlands, no surcharge and more likely shorter trips.
To each his own, but a lot also depends on luck. I try not to go AP empty, not worth queueing. Even if you use the mobile apps, sometimes also cock up, got to wait long long and waste time. Time is all we have.
My strategy, don't mind sharing because it is not new anyway, is to head towards town during the "Golden Period" from 6-12pm - lots of pax, calls and surcharges. After midnight, too many cabs in town, too much competition, very hard to get pax quickly unless you are lucky. See the long long Q of cabs also sian liao. On possible way out to keep cruising and not join the long Q. Sometimes can get pax from unexpected places in town area.
Mon to Thurs, quite tough to get pax after midnight. So have to cheong before that and take minimal breaks. Singapore got lots of ghost towns after midnight.

Bro, driving taxi is not abt pax then what's driving taxi about?
Bro, it is about the best returns on your time and effort. Of course must have pax lah, no pax, where got biz? I mean where you pick pax, at what time you pick them, matters a lot. I find pax in heartland malls usually travel very short distance to go home in that estate. Just an observation, I could be wrong.

Bro, you hit the right target liao... best returns on time and effort... is queuing an effort?? Yes, definately but might not be best returns because it can be as long as 45mins for your turn
Heartland mall is mostly short trips, that means you can get back to the mall again for the short trips. And who knows after the short trips, you can get a trip to town -- the so called golden area...
Heartland area is something that you have to be very familiar with and you would know where to go for your paxs at different timing...
Luck (or co-incidence) is something that you have to create it..meaning you have to be on the road --- not in coffeeshop or find bak bak area...
Now compare the above with an empty cab straight down to town and with the sceniaro you had mentioned abt town ((( long queue of taxis, as most TD love to go there )))
What i'm saying is during Fri and Sat night, the impossible (improbable) can become possible (probable) and these 2 nights definately are different from the rest of the nights. So, the strategy should be different....
Perhaps or maybe, shorter distance (especially after midnight) will be a btter return in terms of time and effort come end of the year....

Just another experience of mine... AMK hud... Heartland mall rite.... But i ever kena from the TS there to go to JB, Punngol, GBTB, Geylang.... Not all must be short distance... But Hougang Mall... good luck to you....
Mention many many times liao after midnight don't waste time round n round
Follow the nite birds n join the "Q"
Maybe some will slowly learn
Hehe....
I mentioned a few times liao... had even mentioned for Fri and Sat night Fri and Sat Nite...
And yes, please q even on Fri and Sat nite.....

like that night driver can close shop early, shorter driving hours! shiok!
these couple of days is almost OBK day.
powerful sun shining up there, glaring down on us. streets very quiet. driving empty to dump diesel is making the blood pressure going up every km clocked empty. see green lanterns coming in opposite direction while u move is also very depressing. mdt also go dumb. sometimes each of us need to have some luck, some stragegy that works for u, else go hide for prey at the more auspicious areas.
recently my cdg friends say cdg jobs very cock up, if a pick up is like within 100m ahead, u bid 3min, hard to get. but always kenna jobs that needs u to U turn back. if jobs keep coming and u ignore, suddenly a nearby one comes, u hit 3 min, system will tell u job cancel, do not proceed, knn, like playing driver.
btw, now countdown shorten to 3mins instead of the usual 5mins, is it true?
Sometimes we must understand y majority tds like to q after midnight n only some handful go merry go round to try their luck
Cannot be 90% queuing for no reason ma?
But queuing during peak hrs is a no no for me
I find queueing a waste of time, especially if there is a long Q and not moving. The most I will Q is 10 mins but if got stucked and cannot move out of Q line, then bo pian.
Past midnight, not enough pax for the cabs,so always have long Q in city area. Maybe queueing is better but I prefer to cruise around a bit and then RTU if no luck. Rest body and mind for the next day is better.
Cruise along Orchard Rd after midnight and you can see long long taxi Qs everywhere. Yet, there are pax at other non city areas waiting for taxis. It is a mismatch that only mobile booking apps can fix.
Question is why Q at city area after midnight when there is no more city surcharge?

No No No.. depend on your target... I saw a post here stating able to nett 100 ard 10 to 11 pm starting from 5pm... So another couple of hours should be enough for target and better go back rest early for next "hunting" night....
But your so called shiok may end this year end especially for Fri and Sat night (after midnight)

I will only queue only if the paxs queue is longer than the taxi queue.... Long time didn't queue at airport liao... If not maybe can see bowah feeding the birds there....or worse talking to the birds there...
