every time when taxi companies have lot's of taxis parked with no taker, this kind of rumours will circulate around tds, relief drivers thinking of converting to omo, pls don't jump into it and sign up as hirer yet, hungry ghost festival coming, usually business are dam bad, later drive until you kee seow but only make so little of profit.......
let those taxi rot in their backyard lah...... i believe before fare increament, the publics will be officially informed before hand......

1. Flag down increase $0.30
2. Every jump or waiting time increase from $0.22 to $0.30
3. No more peak hours
4. Surcharges remain the same
5. No more 50% midnight charges.
6. $5 surcharge applies for fare from 12.00am to 5.59am.

3. No more peak hours-I don't think so, it use to be $2 flat fee, most other country also practice this peak hours surcharge, if totally cancel, rush hour you won't see anymore cab, all jiak their dinner lo, the only changes I will see is back to those regular hour, not like now, crazy, peak hour until midnight, SIAO!!!

5. No more 50% midnight charges.-Totally impossible, notice whenever got fare adjustment, midnight problem never in their agenda

Funny you guys toking about fare increases. Taxi fares have been deregulated since 1998. Any taxi company can suka suka set their own fares liao..just need to inform public in advance only. You see how Silver set their current booking fees? Suka suka, gahmen also neber stop them wat.
Dec 2013 SMRT increased flag down fare for Epica from $3.40 to $3.60. Also liddat and nobody stopped them wat..
So, what's new?

Last time mercs and sampan all jump the same mercs rental also higher. If compare new mercs and new sampan $16X vs $13X difference also same as last time $30+. So why cannot same meter jump? In fact same meter jump better. Lesser rejection for white correct? Just set higher starting fare for mercs can already.

the idication given to those scholar is simple
1) Set an increment of 10% to 15%
2) Keep it complicated
we no longer able to convince for an increment, so confuse them
so in the pipeline, it is something like this
flat down remain
per jump decrease by about 10% to 20c
also "decrease" the distance per jump by 20%
400m to 320m
350m to 280m
(like tat both also decrease, those idiot sure blur blur one)
surcharge (it time to "solve" problem)
$3CBD surcharge will remain but widen the area cover
(also because now CDG less lobang on call, as there is competition)
Peak Hour
surcharge will decrease to 20%
but timing will extent to
6am-10.30am
5pm to 11pm or 12am
(it actually still more then the present 25% as the tariff had adjust. like tat, pax will "enjoy" the decrease and yet TD still got to make more)
Mid night surcharge will remain
Location surcharge - there will be some increase in location but not $$$
Booking fees will also decrease to $2 and $3
Overall, TD still get to enjoy an increment, but prepare to vomit back

Up till now, guess most of you guys have received the 'unofficial' sms or whatsapp regarding the 'fare hike'
No need to worry abt no peak hours, cos already 24hrs peak hours when meter jumps 30 sen

No peak? very hard to control drivers timming leh...complication to TD is not much, but to pax, all gong gong even till now, sunday night got peak also dunno

now $3.2+0.8, $4.4(meter jump 20 time)+$1.1($4.4 25%)=$9.5
30cent no peak
$3.2+$6(0.30x20 time)=$9.2....
So after fare hike, a $9.5 fare become $9.2...

That's why some say the distance travelled might be reduced.
From 400m per jump, it could be 300m or 350m per jump...
Pls do another calculation based on the above..Just to let us know the difference..Tks.

Must do calculation one... But hor, all types of taxi fare calculation, most can be calculated... Only your $30 nett one, very difficult to even figure out, let alone calculate...

simple mah, $50 rental for old sonata, fuel $20...then per day, limpek get $100 can liao mah, what so difficult, the problem is when rental start to go up..then the gross intake must go up, that mean, more stress and longer hour on the road.

Bak bak is slowly save, one day save $5 to $10, then once a week, go look around...bak bak is also like durian, got season one hor, not every week they come out, so like waiting for durian to drop, save first,..then one time go happy happy. TD very easy to give excuses to wife and gf one..just said, go do relief driving for one of my buddy in hospital, then end up driving holding 2 bak bak legs up..seibei siong, very good exercise

If no peak hour surcharge, then who will ply the roads at peak hours or after midnight? Not many. Everyone wants to sleep also.

I believe bowah save $30 for bak bak, but most time he will pcc, ($30 only milf standard)......
Than after pcc for 5 times, he will go for $150 猫山王.....
