Fair or not? Cabby also charged after woman gets hurt dashing in front of taxi

Stomper Chew's relative, a cabby, was involved in a collision with this woman, who had apparently dashed across a road into the path of his taxi.
According to the Stomper, both the cabby and the woman were charged by the traffic police for careless driving and failing to keep a lookout for traffic respectively in the wake of the incident.
The Stomper feels this is unfair because the cabby was not to blame for the collision.
Immediately after the accident occurred, both the cabby and his passenger had alighted to render assistance to the woman, who appeared to have suffered a sprained ankle and was left limping.
The Stomper wrote:
"This incident happened in January this year.
"As seen in the video, the woman jumped over the road divider before bumping onto cab.
"The woman was definitely not watching out for moving vehicles before crossing.
"The driver is currently being charged for careless driving, while the woman is being charged for failing to look out for moving traffic.
"We've been trying to appeal with the different departments but to no avail.
"Although we feel that this is not fair, there are few options left.
"We hope that by sharing the video, drivers out there will be more alert.

Many foreigners come here looking at the other side of the traffic to cross road...lols, cos their countries left handed mah..so this FTrash woman must be looking the other way.. In any accident involving cars and pedestrian or even cyclist..drivers will alway be charge on failing to stop in time, there is no way, driver will not be charge in the context of Singapore

ah...now u know why cdg put up free cam for their cab????? u think they so good to their hirer ar??? once hit..lai lai uncle, tell us what happen..Uncle go in, talk heaven, earth and hell stories, then later, the cam show differently...then lai lai uncle...own fault hor..lai lai..$2000 first warning hor.

Aiya, most of time, we cabbies are not so IT savy or got the fark time to go bother abt smlj stomp..so most of the time are cabbies' son, daughter or relatives posting for them after viewing the cam. And all these knn relatives do not know the consequences that it may end up not flavouring the cabby, or that it can be use in a court case, so the idea thing to do is...leave it to yr company and appeal

Do you know that if it is a cdg cam, which i believe it is, the cabby can get boot out for showing it in the public, you are suppose to go back office, sit down and discuss it over on how to go about it.

Because today timid and pampered generation like to vent their frustration through media like FB< twitter, stomp and so on...most got no guts to settle it face to face, highly educated and think they can write this and that on social media to expose this and that...aiyo, end up some get sued, some even get fined..some get cheated, terminated... LIke FB, the objective of FB is to make friend, it was first thot to be Friend Book, but since u can put yr face in it, it become Facebook..but now end up with many enemy...lols
