I not sure abt renewal part but I got 2 frns who went jail n came out to take taxi licence
one frn went in for 15yrs for drug trafficking
came out under yellow ribbon after 6mths allowed to apply
another frn went in twice for less than 1yr for drug consumption allowed to apply
both got release around 5-6yrs ago if iam not wrong
now both got taxi licence n one is driving as a hirer

Whatever lah, there are all kinds of crime and mistake, and the laws keep roti prata, judges keep changing, police prosecutors keep changing, so some get this, some get that even with the same kind of crime committed. Some get pardoned, some cannot, maybe due to kiam pak face, but as far as I am concern, those managed to get thru and driving now, forget abt yr past, be good and start to earn an honest living, for those still unable to get a licence, try next year again, next years is rally year, MP, govt insitutions like LTA are more relax..

No lah, rally is not election, it is a rally for support, by end of 2015 quarter, there will be rallies, govt giving more goodies for all age group, more funds for children education, more rebates for working adults, more rebates on road user, lesser taxation like COE, and so on, then by begining of 2016, the election year..there will be a month of hot contest...and during that month, you can park almost anywhere.. -
