Appeal for witnesses: Cabby hits car after beating red light at West Coast Road

Stomp contributor Sally is appealing for witnesses and videos of an accident she was involved in yesterday afternoon (May 13) at West Coast Road junction.

A taxi driver had beaten the red light and knocked into her vehicle, which he subsequently denied.

Said the Stomp contributor:

"I was involved in an accident today at around 1.05pm to 1.10pm at West Coast Road junction.

"I was turning right when the right turn arrow appeared. While I was turning right, this taxi beat the red light and collided with my vehicle.

"At first, he admitted it was his fault but later told my mechanic a different story.

"I hope someone had happened to see the whole accident or have had it recorded in his vehicle camera. Thank you!"

with this report, coy will call up driver for investigation. unless driver delay time and recordings got over written, then it will depends on eye witness

it goes to show sonata is a tough machine

Took the sd card n ck. it does have many short clips... even up to 2 days. whenever impacts, bump, jerk... the cam will save the vidz for some sec b4 n after...

U hit people side with yr front, 70% gone case liao..even if you manage to convince you are right, the most you can get is a 50/50 case, meaning, both claim each other insurance, both paid the excess, and as for the TD, $1000 please.

TDs nowaday on the road must be careful, especially there are lots of old cars around due to high COE, these pte old car drivers are mostly pok kia one who are waiting for COE to go down, and also looking for loan on how to pay that upfront 50 to 60% cash of a new car. So, some may hope for those gong gong ai koon ai koon TDs to make a mistake, then claim taxi insurance kao kao, end up sold their old car as scrap and go buy a new car, especially when COE is on the downward trend

Accident, nobody gain except car repairer shop..if died in one piece, I dun mind picking it up, but if few pieces like hang tangaling here and head over there, intestines flowing out...I stay far far away, pray not my turn to pick. In our orh chia business, we also take Q, if your turn kenna pick pieces instead of whole body, also hv to go, cannot jump Q one hor, unless..you offer $$ to the one behind.

of course gao gao lah, knn, agent fees and comission already 20% of claim payout..people accident, injured, heart pain or even pyschologically shocked, you go eat people 20%...che ark ar!
