Hi all. I'm new here. Would like ask you all for opinions.
I will be taking my taxi course next mth. I am currently paying my HDB rental with my brother using our CPF. Considering doing taxi driver as my current job as delivery driver doesnt earn much($1600). But I fear that doing taxi driver doesnt contribute much to my CPF account.
So any advice on this? Just f**king drive as a hirer taxi driver, or, continue my low income job but with stable CPF contribution & drive as a relief driver on maybe weekends to earn experience & also extra income?
I support to your switch to TD but start off as a relief would be better choice, as least you do not have a burden of looking for a relief being a hirer. OMO is no joke.
Since you are also on the road everyday, street wise shouldn't be a problem. You may treat the income from cashless payment as your saving/CPF, you'll be surprise how much pax uses cashless payment monthly.
If things really dun workout as TD, you can still revert to your skilled job on delivery.
If work as taxi driver, does the taxi company contribute to our CPF?
I really lost liao. Do the delivery driver job not even 2k/mth. I am in mid 30 liao, only O level qualification. Cant find a job that pays higher. Thought that only taxi driver the only way can earn more.
Any more advises here? Thks
Do u always horn at TD and don't give way to TD?
Ermmm...Not always. Only those who suddenly cut lane & stop in front of me,same goes for other vehicles, not only taxi. Why ask?
u need to like TD in order to become one!sometimes bo pian, paxs last minute gave directions or ask us to stop immediately!u will know what i mean when u become a TD!so practise as a TD point of view fr now on!

Ya wait if the taxi coy helps pay our cpf. If pay.....haleluyah.
Taxi company will not pay cpf contribution. You have to use cash to pay the hdb loan which I am currently doing now. Anyway when you sell the flat in future will get cash instead of returning to cpf with interest.
Whether you are employed, contributing CPF.....
Or self employed, not contributing CPF....
Also must depend on your own financial planning lor.....
If you want to buy big house, take big loan, than want to drive taxi, hoping can cover mortage loan every month, than prepare to engage bowah services lor.....
Even you are employed, but pay is miserable, sometime monthly contribution of CPF also cannot cover mortage loan lor.....
Is still very much depend on individual life style, no 10 years series answer.....
Oic.
Will seriously think over it. In the meantime just go for the taxi course & pass it & think of it after that
Thks all for your advices.....

Haha..... funny but true. It all depends on me. Just like the new mediacock dramaçƒåœ¨ä½ 脚下,the ball is at my feet, I want to pass, shoot or dribble all the way,all are on me. cant blame anyone if it goes wrong. So have to think seriously

And there is one fan that can teach you all the niche in TD, that was my former chief, during liverpool game, he no driving one, die die also no driving, and for your info, during man U, liverpool game, street no cabs liao, time for me to Huat..
The niche is to join as relief, then from there..learn slowly, first week, you may even lose out, but nevermind, you learn, take it as lesson fees, like a baby, learn to crawl first before run..you sweep first, learn where to Q, the routes, and most important, your communiction with pax…MUST learn to tell Pax that you are NEW!! ask Pax for guide, if Pax said that you must know, then ask him to take another cab.
Actually I am a Liverpool fan,for 20 yrs liao. YNWA..... :)
Anyway, can use gps to guide? although i know cant always rely on it since singapore roads are always changing.suddenly will come out 1 new road out of nowhere
