after Volkswagen crashes into tree on ECP: Video shows how it happened
A Singaporean man and a Taiwanese woman were killed after the Volkswagen they were travelling in crashed into a tree on the East Coast Parkway on May 1.
Four other passengers travelling in the car at the time were also injured when the accident occurred.
A startling video has since emerged showing how the crash happened, uploaded by facebook user Haihong.
According to a report in Mypaper, the white Volkswagen had crashed through a road barrier before ramming into a tree on a road divider on the East Coast Parkway along Marine Vista.
Police said they received a call about the accident at 7.32am. The driver and a woman in the passenger seat were pronounced dead at the scene, while the four seated at the back were taken to Changi General Hospital for treatment.
The driver's identity was reported as Jamie Ho, 33, a director and associate publisher at Magazines Integrated.
He specialised in "interactive media, mobile broadcasts and events marketing, particularly for cyber-gaming and e-sports", according to the company's website.
Mr Ho and his father, Ho Sum Kwong, are both listed as directors of Magazines Integrated in Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority records.
The group publishes food magazine Epicure, as well as special-interest magazines Pets and Hooked. Mr Ho was the associate publisher of Hooked, which caters to fishing enthusiasts. He was an avid angler, as evidenced by the dozens of photos on his Facebook page that show him holding up his catch.
His father told Shin Min Daily News that they had spoken just the night before.
He had promised to help resolve an issue with his father's computer.
He loved to travel and was a filial boy, his father added.
Lianhe Wanbao identified the other fatality as Chen Ren Yi, 24, a Taiwanese woman.
It is understood that both of them and one of the passengers at the back were trapped in their seats at first.
Police investigations are ongoing.

Looking at the video the Golf did not start to brake after overtaking, which is between the overhead bridge and river, he only started to brake at abt the park connector, which leaves him with about 80 or 90 metres before reaching the Marina Vista bend
If estmated he's travelling at 180km/hr, would the brakes be good enough to slow the speed to a level to negotiate the bend within 80 or 90metres ?
Did he brake hard enough ?

With this type of driving, it is a matter of sooner or later, he died nevermind, but others also hv to suffer with him. Most properly, was a last minute filtering out, and it is a blessing that there are less cars on the road, if on the 3rd lane there was a car, also jialat liao. Heng ar? not hammer, arbo, limpek may hv to lose some money and drive him for free. I was at the hospital..pathology dept doing disposal, the guy collecting told me, those 4 injured, jialat, 2 permanent handicap, 1 may paralysis, 1 serious head injuries. Sometime in accident, it is better to die....

My aunt sit behind left hand side.....
