  I from Bangladesh come Singapore work for 5 years already, my friend tell me about this page ca talk about what I want to say so I want to say here, hope All Singapore Stuff will share and let public know what happen.

  I lorry driver working Singapore for 4 years already, but now I don't feel
  happy, on 1/1/2017 midnight around 2.30am I with 4 men from my same hostel go
  drive lorry go Boat Quay and Clarke Quay there got pick up some of my Indian
  and Bangla men friend. I drive and stop every 50 to 100 metre asking them
  where they going, because many drunk men and woman so want to help them get
  back home or hostel because taxi and uber men don't want pick, I got before,
  1 time my friend and I take blue taxi back from Clarke Quay back to Kranji,
  taxi men talk many many then my friend vomit in the taxi, no time take
  plastic bag for him, taxi men ask me pay him $100 so I pay he talk many many
  say his taxi cannot pick people because my friend vomit, and if I no pay,
  then taxi men going throw me and my Friend out on highway, then one time
  another of my friend take uber, uber man also talk many many when my friend
  vomit.

  So festive occasion and Sunday I drive out help to pick people taxi and uber
  man no taking then 1 Jan 2017, I travel along Clarke Quay there got 1 yellow
  taxi man and I think uber man come out take video and photo of me picking
  people and charging $10 each man back to Yishun many many are India and
  Bangla drunk men, and say I touting ask for me and my friends work permit,
  then the uber man ask me what I doing, how come got take money, I say my
  Friend charged my lorry ask me come, then the yellow taxi man say why
  different, he take picture of my work permit and want to go report to LTA and
  MOM. The 2 men then say I touting, I ask them why many car and Mercedes taxi
  picking and asking people they no catch, catch lorry, many van also touting
  they no catch. Why catch lorry?

  Then today my boss on holiday one call me say he might want to cut my pay by
  half because I anyhow drive lorry go pick people, he say the yellow taxi man
  his friend, tell him all about it and even say the taxi man and uber man want
  to write to MOM and LTA and get my permit and license cancel and cannot let
  me enter Singapore.

  I don't know why now Singaporean like that one, uber and taxi man very bad,
  drive anyhow, want us bang them then get us into trouble, now we pick people
  collect money also cannot. Our pay very less, work 14 hour only for 5 days
  pay only $1300, then now weekend and festival got chance for us earn pocket
  money also cannot.

  Sir and Mdm, help me share this, I want all driver man outside give us
  chance, don't like that. To the taxi and uber man take my photo and video
  one, how much money you want you tell me, I give but you no tell LTA or MOM.
  Please please help me. I got family in Bangladesh to feed.

  I share a story here. Once upon a time, in China, an old monk with his disciple travel and reached a riverside, they saw a merchant asking a fisherman to ferry him across the river, the fisherman asks the merchant to help him to push the boat into the river. On doing that, small creatures like small prawns, small little crabs were smashed by their feet and boat while dragging it into the river. The disciple asks his master “Shifu, they are killing all these real life, they all do it wrong right?” The old monk wants to enlighten his young disciple and replies “So what do you think? who is at fault?” The little monk says “They are all at fault!” Thinking to himself that I can't be wrong, but surprisingly, the old monk says “No, this is all your fault!”. The young monk was puzzled and starts scratching his head, don't know why his shifu blames him instead “Why, why my fault?” His shifu then replied: “The merchant paid the money for the ferry to do business over the river to earn a living; the fisherman was paid by ferrying to earn money to bring food for his family. They are doing for a living, nothing is wrong, only you do nothing here but asking who is at fault!”.

   

  Story aside, I think if the driver can inform his boss, to be allowed to help out the ferry and boss has some compensation, disel, rental, I mean why not? The faults are others who start this, including me of couse and the law maker if they start interference. The workers and driver have no faults.. but must drive slowly though.

   

  Make yourself easy, so that everyone can live easier, we are not at war now, life isn’t that bad right?!

  Grab not fazed by competition in ride-hailing market

  Cabbies plying the roads have been given a fresh start this year.

  Trans-Cab drivers who are one-man operators have had their daily rents slashed since the start of the year.

  Also introduced from last Sunday were changes to the taxi availability framework.

  The 250km minimum daily mileage has been scrapped, and taxi operators no longer have to ensure that cabs ply the roads during the shoulder peak period of between 6am and 7am and between 11pm and midnight.

  Both changes are seen as levelling the playing field between taxi and ride-hailing services.

  Head of Grab Singapore Lim Kell Jay, 32, thinks it spells good news for the industry.

  "This updated framework is a testament to the successes we have seen with our GrabTaxi business," he told The New Paper.

  DOMINANT

  These changes come three years and three months after Grab first broke into Singapore's market. Today, Grab is one of the dominant ride-hailing platforms.

  Valued at US$1.6 billion ($2.3 billion) by Fortune magazine, it competes with Uber, a US$69-billion behemoth.

  But don't call Grab an underdog. Mr Lim said: "It is all relative. Our competition may have raised money globally, but how much are they going to allocate to this part of the world?

  "I think we've raised quite a bit for this part of the world. We're not by any means in an underdog position."

  Every dollar will be put to good use, he emphasised.

  Mr Lim said: "With the capabilities that we have built, especially around data, we are able to make much smarter decisions."

  The company operates in six countries, including Singapore. Here, it offers four ride options: cab-hailing service GrabTaxi, private car-hailing service GrabCar, social carpooling service GrabHitch, and most recently, commercial carpooling service GrabShare.

  In April 2015, it launched a US$100 million research and development centre - a 4,500 sq ft centre at Cecil Street that can accommodate more than 200 engineers and data analysts. It has nearly 150 job openings, including for data scientists and engineers.

  This year, Grab will focus on the area of payment - think GrabPay, credits and cashless payment methods (such as AliPay).

  When asked if there will be more options rolled out on the platform going forward, Mr Lim was coy. He said: "If you look at how we have evolved, almost every year we have (added) a new service...

  "And we'll continue to do that because we have an ambitious goal, to make point-to-point transport extremely reliable.

  "Not only that, we want to get you a ride within three minutes."

  So how far away is Grab from that three-minute target?

  Said Mr Lim: "If you talk about getting a car to you in three minutes, almost every car on the road needs to be part of the Grab platform...

  "We won't stop until we get every single vehicle in Singapore on the Grab platform."

The fact that you are making losses and not a single profit in these 3years of struggling, investors must be either doing money laundry or stupid. Last time said, in 2 years, we wants taxi to be lesser or perhaps out of the scene and their drivers will come over to do grab or uber....now 2 years + liao leh...still got 27,000 taxis on Singapore road leh. Technology is not about HP, GPS and Payment mode, all these are know and nothing new, to be frank, without govt pouring in the money...you wouldn't even cut to be a businessman, true businessman start with nothing...白手起家

  Cannot lah, mai sia suay, who will book grabcasket?? I park my casket van near kopitiam to buy kopi already kenna the kopi soh/uncles ask me to go away..nabey buy kopi and chai peng rice only mah...5 minutes also cannot. Latest news from grab sms...dear partners, paxs who cancel call more than 10 times will be charge $2 per call cancel...wee wow!

  If you have been cancelling Grab bookings, you’d better watch out.

  That’s because the local taxi and ride-sharing company will begin to impose fines on users who abuse cancellations starting today. According to Grab, cancellations are massive inconveniences to both riders and drivers, assuring users that the $2 fine will only kick in after more than ten cancellations within a week.

  Cancellation charges are not new and have been present for some time on the rival app – Uber charges a hefty S$10 fee for cancellation after five minutes successfully booking a ride. However, users can dispute the fine through Uber app or their support email.

  It is also possible that Grab’s new cancellation policy is introduced to curb GrabShare abusers who frequently make cancellations in hope to enjoy a ride all by themselves.

  Over time, the move can lead to a positive outcome, resulting in lesser misses for drivers on the road, increased earnings and better chances to find a ride since users will think twice before making a booking or cancelling now.
