Heng ar...you left army, arbo, many locals teenager boy would had suffered under siao lau inche. But tia kong SAF now bo lang, wanting to recruit back those lau lj kia NCOs or Officers to train today chao ah gua peng. Whatever life you had in the past is history, what you can do it learn from it but never dwell on it. Tho TD is not a glamorous nor a commanding job, it did in one way or the other help you to put thru certain thing in life, and at the end of the day, when you are in the sick bay and I am waiting outside with my van, you can proudly said, hey, I was a taxi driver before...

Yeah this is true. The police is also getting old timers to come back and serve in various positions. Don't have to be full time policeman if don't want to - just be a trainer. Conduct lessons, give advice. Or if want to return - do as a desk job - clear old cases or the back log. Get your last pay plus retain benefits. For those on pension scheme - get your pension plus full pay. And of course retain your rank.
Or if want a change then go into Prisons, CNB or even CPIB and do intel work mainly. Be the link between them and the SPF.
It's great now for ex-civil servants - so many options and treated much better than when in service.
This is a topic I'll be covering in my blog about the main problem with policemen nowadays - too much promotions - so no one is doing the basic jobs.
CP Ng is wrong - there's no need for 1000 extra police - it's the kind of police you employ. Take for eg; Geylang - why the problem - well everyone is now a Sgt minimum, after a few years S/Sgt or SSS. You think a S/Sgt or SSS still want to go around doing beat duty?
He will think, now I got rank, why should I be doing this kind of low end jobs, walking up and down, patrolling and checking people. I want a desk job, I want to supervise.
Thats why in the UK police until today there's only 2 junior ranks - Constable and Sgt.
Constables do the normal everyday duty and Sgts lead them. No such thing as Cpl, SSGt, SSS Stn Insp etc.
Pay the Constables well - pay them Sgt pay even and pay Sgts an SI pay. Rank should be given out slowly and on merit, not lelong like it's here now. If the pay is good, people will stay.

The problem is the salary range, Police needs to readjust the range of new entry minimum and maximum up. As most of them are now basically higher educated, the range should be widen to accomodate higher increment without promotion -
Nowadays, in the Army, anyhow throw stone oso will kenna a LTC or MAJ. Very hard to find 2Lt around. Hahaha...

If you start to paid a private starting paid $3000 minimum and maximum $5500, lance corporal $5500 to $6800, corporal 6800 to 8000. I volunteer to be private and do the below work. With regard to this thread, throwing key is a good time, because now, the labour market is very tight, and it will get tighter, so it is a labour market now, many HRs told me, instead of them interviewing people for a job, most job seekers now interview the company on their wage package including allowances and benefits.

On the other hand on why investor are still here and coming here whereby operating cost is so high, and wage cost is set to rise, it is all because of our peace and harmony, good labour management relationship, and most importantly, SE Asia is booming and will boom further, and SIngapore is strategically situated in the middle of the boom

no dent, just scratch. Use finger feel can feel little bit lah. I think the guy who do inspection play bastard. Maybe should go office as the guy up there to come down to verify than to be assessed by the workshop guy.

Go bang table lah, knn, that is why deposit is at their disposal, but who do not have scratches and dents in their cab, even private cars on the road so less, also hv dents and scratches. Reason it out with their superior, but if scratches go across cdg phone nos and logo, you need specialist at Sin Ming to get those logos and phone nos sticker. Cdg had lost it good servicing of taxi skill, now all using cheap labours..phuiXXX -
Cdg is under threat, and they still think they are king and queen, their servicing is getting no better than those TC and Silver, in fact, at time, more worst. And that is why you see many cab getting burnt, most of these servicemen are ah tiong, only a few old hand supervisors around, but they old liao, only walk here and there only. They have lost their good cab servicing, they are now facing grabtaxi apps for on call (which levy can now paid thru M1), their rental is higher than others, their benefits is not much, if they dun pick up and increase fares....sooner or later, you will see they lost their popularity and creditability. Moreover, they are more interested in their shares up than taxi drivers.
