I got one pub owner buddy end up divorce, full of debts, knn, his childrens also desert him, some are just not make to do business, especially nite life boss, sure to succumb themselves to girls, betting, bad company and drinkings, end up all his earning also get conned. Now also drive Taxis

Usually they are employed in contract basis.....
Got contract, got work, got money lor.....
No contract, jiak ka ki lor.....
These day, those main contractors also don't buy crane anymore, mainly they lease from those crane suppliers like Tat Hong, Tiong Woon.....
These are the coy who conduct courses for mobile crane operators, than once you pass, the coy will employed them under contract basis lor.....
If main con lease mobile cranes from them, they will offer them a package cum with crane operators also, now you got work to do liao lor, usually a work side can last from 6mths to 2 years lor.....
Not easy job la.....

the number of foreign cane operators hv also increase
infact many supervisory n above positions in construction/oil petrochemical industry hv been taken up by them bcoz companies willing to pay n send them for all tis courses
some compaines even send them for diploma & degree to maintain them for long term basics
now u hv to wrk under them in most construction/oil petrochemical projects
l've personally seen some workers grew up to become managers
one bangala fm rigger man rise to logistics coordinator then to operation manager
heard fm my ex colleague tat now tat bangala is number 2 man in the wrk site
became PR n staying in condo with company sponsored car

Yes, why coy sent them for crane operator course? Becos to lease a team of mobile crane operators (they work in team) is not cheap.....
From 50ton-500ton or more, it cum with different prices.....
And this team of mobile crane operators work separately within the job site, they still fall under the charge of mobile crane suppliers becos this mobile crane suppliers are their pay master.....
So in the job site, very frequent you will see crane operators only sit inside the crane, if don't required them to lift things, they will just sit inside the cabin and read newspaper, they won't help up others in the job site 1, si beh ya ya 1.....
So if possible, the main con will sent their staff to attend those courses, but also provided they have the crane hor......
Some big main con got the abilitity to purchase crane and move from site to site becos they got many project in hand, but they can't probably purchase cranes from 50ton to 500ton.....
So most time, even they have qualify crane operators, they still lan lan must lease from those crane supplier, becos they don't have enough cranes mah.....
And these suppliers si beh smart, they only lease out cranes cum with a team, so even you just want to lease a crane alone, sorry, bo kang dao.....

So imagine this main con got 5 mobile cranes in hand....
Than got 5 qualify bangala to operate them.....
Save a lot lo.....
Than nothing to lift, still can summon those so call qualify bangala crane operators go dig hole.....

Btw, a good brand new 150ton mobile crane, the cost is equivalent to a Ferrari.....
So let's say in a small project site, like a single tower condo.....
Minimum also need at least 2 heavy mobile crane in later stages.....
So if you are a small Main Construction Coy, you think you will go buy this 2 mobile cranes?.....
And don't forget, after project done, where you want to store this machine?.....
And the resale value is just like our car market, si beh lok 1.....

Cheap manager mah, bangala and india managers are earning much less than a typical taxi driver, because company exploited them in to working more for less, we called them cheap manager/labour. Company knows all these people like names and position over money, unlike locals and PRC, we are more down to earth, money more important, dun give me the shit on bogus title. -

Tiong woon public listed mah, but tia kong lots of politics inside, at pandan crescent, knn, you go in, sometime cannot come out, all those 10 wheeler and heavy vehicle moving out. Pek Tiong was former Ah Woon partner, but due to bay gum, so tio pek set up his own and call it Pek Tiong, there is also another one call kor tiong, but never last long.

It is a cut throat business out there, tiong woon also got rent out their space for building oil rig platform, I use to go there as contractor, quotation wise for crane, tiong woon, like our cdg, is the big brother, their quote is reasonable, safety record and quality of work is good, a typical crane 1/2 day (4hrs) minimum, already can cost you 5 to 8k. -
Crane driver as far as I know, they are paid a basic of 1.2k with all other employment benefits, each trip go out, they get between $100 to $200 depend on the vehicle and task, so round up with OT and weekend, they get about 5 to 6k per month, but driving a 18 wheels is no joke hor, sometime also got to tow out.

Diploma, easy lah, just paid only mah, then attend 75%, pass liao lor, knn, workers from mynmar rebel places and indian from chennai banana plantation also can come here and get diploma, you tell me...easy or not? Last time, O level seibei saki one hor, then diploma lagi saki, now, simi is diploma, so many insitution offering, from la salle to SHatec to NTUC to those poly (polyclinic not included) and many other soft diploma like SIHRM, SIM, CMBN, SNEF, OTCI, extra extra also can get liao mah, knn, if not how these lecturers can earn extra?? Like we normalimo TD, sometime also do secret diposal to earn extra mah, massage ladies call it special. Diploma starting pay 1.8k, foreign workers with S pass mandatory 2.2k, what the fark is diploma??

NOt only hotel industrial lah, all industrial also got at least 70% foreigners, locals are mostly outcasted to become TD, Casket driver, lorry driver, private limo driver and so on, like it or not, we cannot change the situation unless something dramatic change in 2016. So, in the meantime, dun go and curse and swear on it, it only deeper yr sorrow and morale with no ending, think what you can gain from it, how to find a niche in a majority foreigner workforce, then wait for 2016, by then, you should know what to do? The truth is most of us are in our middle age, and as govt said, they are not going to close the door for foreigners, they are still coming, but lesser only, there are still new PRs, new S pass, new E passes and so on, and the worry part is our childrens, they migh suffer more than us.
