The above regulation govt more on property of large entity, like warehouse or big factory space the one own and decided to rent out, there are many landed property owner living in private and landed house are not declaring their rental except if they rent out the whole house, and for goodness sake, HDB is not your property, it is leased for 99 years only, smlj property are you talking about when even private property owners are not declaring and HDB declaring??? siao bo.

Anyway, not many TD got the luxury to lease out their whole HDB unit.....
But if they really got chance to do that, 1st HDB will grant approval, next property tax will be increase, no more subsidize rate after you pay stamp duty, than IRAS will be notify a copy of your lease agreement, than if they never cock up, confirm you will receive notice for declaration.....
As for room renting, this type very subjective lor, like Ben say, if you register with HDB which you must do that, than no way to run lor.....
But no matter what, rental received is an income and must be declared.....
Those rich people lagi will declared, reason you go and figure out, don't listen to that old loh soh bowah theory.....

Once you declare, you will be under their radar, IRA work as the same principle as our govt, they like to induce fear, propagate news of those validating the income, which are mostly those doing business and rich. For mere pathetic rental of room, you go ahead and declare, reporting to HDB is a new rules, why, because of lots of illegal rental and immigrates, some end up with 10 in one room, the govt want to stop all these, but they are not going to clamp you down for INcome tax. -
Logically speaking, a smart person will not declare, until IRA come or asked you (which they will hardly do). then you act blur, oh really, these also must declare ar? so just declare lor, but for nothing go declare for what, as I said, declaring is easy, but the erase it, even when you no more renting, you might hv to go down to IRA and bang table, WHY YOU PUT RENTAL INCOME? Hammer are the super rich group, the last budget that tax more on sin tax is already making the rich laughing all the way to the bank, my fren, you just ask yourself, base on 2% income tax..taxing the rich 10 millions income better or a pathetic 8 thousands income better?? Do you think they go bother your pathetic one room or 2 room HDB rental income??? or a normal man suddenly found driving a ferraris?

My IC no address, sticker fell off, so consider no house. Then those govt people sometime ask me, Uncle, where you sleep at nite..I told them from geyland lor 6 to lor 36, all my house. Aiya, here is wayang wayang mah, you act like a super rich TD, keepthechange act as former in debt driver, my ah fu act as blur driver, I act as $30 net driver cum cdg staff, bro joo7 act as go everywhere also no pax driver, and many many more, some even act as chief, some act as sunday driving with debt and so on....afterall, life is a movie mah

Those last time already purchase private property, still can keep their HDB unit, of course after the new cool down measures, now cannot liao, but don't influence those people who already own both.....
Than HDB rule is, owner must stay in HDB, cannot stay in private property and lease out HDB.....
So you good boy hor.....

3 rooms consider not very good citizen liao, good ones are those who bought 5 rooms and above HDB beside their private property
