How to survive the hot and sunny afternoons?

Between 1300-1600hrs is so hard to bear..
aircon blasting and its so glaring until eyes want to shut..
very stuffy in the car..

i haben try day driving but this saturday will be my 1st.

Once aircon in cool condition, try not to off engine, park and lim kopi lor.....
Nowadays most taxi got this auto aircon switch, should be able to counter the heat from outside.....
But if you driving a lau kok kok sonata, than good luck to you lor.....
1 of the big problem of sonata is their aircon, si beh fark up type.....
Than sunny day is still better than raining day la.....

I take frequent breaks..
or least cannot last for the night driving
i don't emphasie too much on day driving, low value fares

These hours for TD is koon hour, drive smlj, sun so hot, no peak, no surcharge, aunties and audit, if not those sick people going hospital full of virus and bacteria... -

TD driving nite got many reason one lah, some do not like their skin to get burnt, some simply do not like to stay at home, some drive nite because got lots other activities mah and also got reason to tell family member mah..if really want to make money in TD, it is not abt driving day or nite, it is about going OMO on both peak period

where got family time? Family come back u go out, u come back, family go out
weekends can only cash in on night peak hour driving

Weekend let go lah, go find a full time relief lor, just be ching chai abit, people will drive for you, friday nite do one gao gao one, then give him on sat morning, then can go home sleep with lau char bor, later go dinner, watch movie and football with family....but hor, to be frank, many TDs like me, family life is nothing lah, all children grew up liao, hv their own life, loves one, still follow me meh, sometime a old man can become an obstacle for the younger ones, cantonese said..cho tang

weekend relief very choosy, never last long enough
children still in primary school, wife very tulan already, got husband, like don't have.
son got father, like don't have...

yes u are right weekend very difficult to find whole day/half shift relief
lucky my former half shift sun relief came bk to drive for me again
on sun morning
nearly 6mth no one wana drive after he left
now weekend nites i just cover rental or sometimes throw rental to spend more time wit family
planinng to drive 5 days only in future if things goes well

Hello, there are many locals having a fast life, all thanks to our govt, even executives are working day and nites, and TDs, although long hours, but not much stress, unlike me on board ship for days wondering how to make the damn engine works, you wife and family should be glad you are a TD, at least can find and locate you in Singapore, last time, I seaman, 9months oversea. Agree that family life is important, but knn, many TDs during their free time all go kopitiam, buy nos, play game lah..gamble lah..drinking..find pros..massage. Such type of lifestyle no matter what you work also no family life mah. In balancing a lifestyle, there must be a will, a will to do it, then come and talk about it, there must be something to trade off, can be the hours, the income, the time spend on bak bak and so on. You go weight the needs and the happiness you seek, if you think like me, finding bak bak is shiok and happy, then by all means, if you think family life is important, then make provision for it so as to make you and your family happy, not drive 12 hrs everyday like mad dog and expect better family life?? -

If you are earning 2 - 3K, definitely is having some free time but ...if drive for that kind of amount, must well you better find a permanent job with cpf?
earning 3-4k is what OMO td is targetting... is achieveable but need to be highly disciplined.

In Sg, many many jobs simple and easy than driving taxi, but take home almost equivalent.....
Look around your peers, friends, relatives, not difficult to find la.....
Mai di di listen to that bowah, smlj casket drivers or seaman(semen)......
Those jobs ma na si lang jo 1.....

Many TD are resort to their own fate and keep telling himself, only taxi driving can nia.....
Ended up, even they have recover from life, still gong gong holding steering, paying rental to those taxi coy suckers for nothing.....
I won't deny, if you are telok in life, debt high high, driving taxi might be able to overcome it.....
But please hor, once recover, get out as soon.....
Even just sit at home, play share also better than peng steering 12-16 hours hor.....
Than those don't need money type also gong gong peng steering few hour to pay rental.....
Where got logic????.....
If you are "well to do" in life, whether got car or no car doesn't really matter liao.....

Arbo, ka ka tan 4D and wait lor, see if can like that tien kong kia keepthechange, then tio big big, ho say liao. Peng taxi, not bad lah, the only thing is cannot eat snake, other jobs can eat many snake, taxis driving, you eat snake is at your own lost, other job eat from snake to alligator also got money coming in per minute. At mid age, we all should had settled down on our job, whether you are a GM, MD, casket driver, taxis driver etc etc, we should be more or less contended with what we end up as, be it high or low income, no use blaming the past, one of the key to happiness is contention, but hardly can a man feel contented, give u $30, you ask for $50, kenna 4D few hundred thousands, you want millions..

u wrong liao... when I drove taxi, $2 big ...max $5 big... now not driving, $20 big $20 small.... That day kena dream....$300 big and $300 small.... why leh ? Bcuz taxi pai tang...sweat & blood money ;P -

the choice is urs no one is forcing us we only get to live once so rather enjoy the time with our family so tat next time we won't regret
For myself everyday I put $10 aside to cover my weekend rental if I need to throw due to family time
tats the advantage hving a relief
my kid is also young every weekend nite hv to bring to library
to read books
i don't hv any heavy debts only my credit cards bills n some jewelry inside pawn shop
all less than 10k every mth i pay bit by bit to settle
iam just sharing my personnel opinion so no right or wrong hor

Usually from tio small small, than with a bit of capital, mao and try la....
When lady luck want to visit you, I tell you tong beh diao 1.....
Than special occasion with special number, don't tell me don't mao? knn rental can pay $100 plus, 4D cannot taiko 1 time meh? if beh tio, ho lang kang lor....

For taxi driving, if cannot overcum family work life balance, than better hurry up switch and change job before too late....

Very very true point u got there abt family time
got one real story happen to my frn
he omo spend too long hrs on rd to support family
wife at hm get bored start to play FB regularly untill got affair
later kena catch then admit her mistake he also forgive her
bcoz partly it's his mistake too
now he no more driving cab change to delivery driver
with normal wrking hrs
both of them still together n happy
