since last yr may, i was continually updating i40 rental price with cdg, and these are differences observed:
Taxi collect on:
july - $127
sep - $130
after sep - $132
even though the difference is only minimal, but some hirer are trying to smoke around and bluff the way through just to make the relief pay a bit more, knn dam cheapskate.
same goes to sonata, some can tell me the daily rental is $115 but the taxi was signup 2 yrs ago, wtf? mid last yr brand new sonata was still only $105, the $115 new price only started sometime around end of last yr......
If taxi fares cannot any how goes up. why taxi rental can anyhow goes up?
Are there many TD doing OMO with daily rental more than $130+?
Each day, 7-8 hours breakeven. How to earn money?

well, if anyone thinks that the hirer is going to eat you, dont collabrate and work with him lo. My hirer pay 106 per day inclusive of gst, still charge me 53. initially i tot hirer will just ask me pay 50, easy to count...how i know he even count the 3 bucks.
sometimes, just close one eye, or both eyes. if till one day, cannot close liao. Just throw the key back to him lo.
i have tried out the i40 as a relief for the pass few days, saving on diesel so so only lar..... 12km/l.....very quiet and peaceful drive, just the same like any new car, pick up wise.... sigh......... i really miss the sonata turbo.... when comes to merging lane, oftenly other taxi and cars try to be funny by overtaking me by the left as they know that i40 is a sissy taxi without the power punch turbo when needed..... will try out for another week, if really cannot adapt, will go back to sonata or switch to smrt chevy or transcab chevy/renault.

7-8 hours...breakeven but nowadays companies already calculated, ask you drive more than 12 hours. unless you pick quality pax la. else just like the rat race....
nowadays, i drive until scare liao. thinking of target to hit. But usually when drive night after 6pm, 2 hours can cover rental liao, if good can also cover diesel.
after that, really damn nua....feel like keeping car @ 10pm.

to be fare, paying exact is fare to both parties, but lying that the rental is $130 instead of $127 just to get another dollar is dam cb..... especially sonata that was signup b4 the new price $10 increase kicks in, lie just to get another $5 from relief, ppl see the log book will know already lah..... or by checking at the onemotoring website will know when the i40 was collected, knn some old hag still living in the 70's.
got 2 types of sonata model right? the 1st gen and the 2nd gen. 2nd gen sonata v powderful, the 1st gen...really koya.
I am driving the 1st gen mah. so when i see the 2nd gen comfort taxis zoom pass me, i just LL. but still 179km mileage can only use up 17 bucks.
hahaha.

ya i agree with you. Some old hirers really treat relief as chop carrot head. But still, my own opinion, i prefer my hirer will stay next block to me. So when i just take my time go down carpark, is convenient.
some shared with me the bonding between hirer and relief, i do agree with bowah at one point that sometimes, when comes to business it's best to have good ethics.
I just told my hirer ill stop driving him by this month as i am running shift. so depends on my new shift work, see how my schedule before i start driving again.

This apply to half a day rental.

actually there's 1 or 2 incident, my hirer dint pump fully. So when i drove close to 289km, i am actually topping up 35 bucks of diesel. Nowadays, i roughly estimate my rental plus diesel dont exceed 90 bucks can liao. Last night, hit very low hahaha. $53 plus $17 = $70 bucks nia.
the 1st gen really cmi but what to do? My hirer old, doesnt rely on speed much, he only covers west areas only. sigh.

imagine half a day rental..... i really damn sian mode. sometimes, before sunset, the vision for sweeping pax still ok, but at night...really have to finetune my eye sight.
i just saw the news, the silvercab just banged the motorist. the rider died, the pillon still surviving...i wonder what will happen to the TD.
Tcss? I like.....
i40 bo turbo? Knn, than my bicycle sure can beat them.....
I think differently leh.....
With our current road condition.....
The car, must have power....
Must be smooth.....
Must be able to manoveur fast, ie carpark turning, sharp corner, dead end 3pts turn.....
Must be comfortable to drive in, not drive until giddy, giddy, or jerk here, jerk there until backbone pain.....
Than your driving pattern also will be different.....
I got to admit, my last Lau kok kok merc is really a let down, luckily, limpek already recover from life, arbo with this kind of vehicle, everyday lose money only.....
My best days is still the Sonata, 1st gen Sonata, twin turbo.....
Brand new car, si beh ho chiong, piak call also number 1.....
As for recent year those new cab, I think only Chevy can match although I never drive before, but from my friends feed back lor, 6 speed somemore......
hmm nowadays i see renault latitude not bad.

actually like what others say, if hirer makan, at most dont sign with him lo. simple as that.
v hard to makan one la. at most ppl play smelly when topping up diesel? When top liao, usually the 1st click sound when the pump indicate is full, at most i top up another 2 bucks of diesel nia.
if relief BTH the hirer or vice versa, just find new one loh.
Me got 2 relief n we use the incentive to buy season parking
topping up diesel is always the main prob
never ending story
some after 1st click than round up to nearest dollar stop liao
some after 1st click wait n pump afew dollars more
some will shake n shake till taxi 45 degrees than use torch to see see
best is to talk it out gum beh gum u decide
usually after pumping, when hear 1st click, i just top up $2 more nia. this one dont need to talk one la. But once a while, when i am driving an average km, i knew my hirer makan me about 10 dollars for the fuel...arya i say fuck in my heart.
