  Share taxi facilities to lower costs

  The Land Transport Authority, National Taxi Association and taxi companies should work together to ease operating costs by sharing facilities. (“Have simple taxi meter system, drop surcharges; Jan 14)

  For example, ComfortDelGro has the largest call centre for taxi bookings and well-located diesel kiosks across Singapore.

  Could we not have a centralised call centre for all the taxi companies and shared diesel kiosks for all cabbies?

  If the companies combine resources, this would bring down their respective operating costs, which would, in turn, allow for lower daily rentals for cabbies.

  the 250km mileage is only for taxi companies to increase their fleets. Nothing to do with us drivers. Did they include benefits to us drivers if we hit 250km mileage per day? I can even hit 350km per night if i happy. But what for?

   

  Taxi coy rent us taxis, we pay rental.

  imagine wit one company already got so many issue

  wat if all company share?? hell breaks loose!!!

  if real, u do somthing to kill off yr competitors or do something to make yr competitor looks good. if he dont understand, just look at some party, paid million talk about hawker centre cleaning.

  Wahahaha... but I am still a taxi driver..sob sob sob... To kill competitor, there is 2 common ways, one is being better, cheaper and faster than them. The other is, if you are financially able, buy them over. Alots of business are base on acquisition and buying, of course some go into merging, but merging also need a bigger share to take control. Eg cdg acquired city cab, hold control and take over it stake, however, the branding, they choose to remain, like big wife's son and mistress's son, and then cdg merged with delgro to go global, being the higher in shareholding, cdg hold control with their brand infront comfort delgro and not delgro comfort, unless delgro increase shares and take control. As for local merging, especially within taxi driver's trade, it can hardly be more successful, because as you all know lah, taxi drivers here are full of egos and prides, kong wu kong bo alot, how to merge, who be the chief, who control the finance, who decide on important issue is alway a mess. Therefore, I see no lasting in LV and Beach radio stn merging, as the hierrachy within will need lots of sorting out. For initial, it is merely a merge of convienences whereby economic of scale and resources are at paly.

  But all those Lau GUI in radio station especially the boss, only want to collect sub fee, than end of the year go holiday jalan jalan nia leh.....
