The bus driver, who wanted to be known only as Chong, said the cab was trying to turn right from Ang Mo Kio St 22 to Ave 3. His bus, which was ferrying five to six workers to work at a factory in Ang Mo Kio, was going straight on Ave 3 at the time.
Get the full story from The Straits Times.A death tent was spotted after an apparent collision between a bus and a taxi this morning, Jan 8, at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and Street 22.
Stomp contributors G Manohur and Aven sent in photos of the incident, which is believed to have happened at around 7.30am.
Overhearing some people at the bus stop nearby, Aven stated that the cabby was most probably making a right turn at the junction, and the bus was going straight.
He said: "So guys, please make sure you look left and right before doing a turn and anticipate the speed of the other vehicle coming towards you.
"I hope the drivers and passengers are all safe."
G Manohur. observing the death tent, noted that one of the people involved might have died.
He said: "It looks like a fatal accident."
Both contributors had observed the aftermath, where the ambulance had already cleared the scene and police were taking notes and photos of the incident.
Traffic around Ang Mo Kio was slowed this morning.
G Manohur added: "There were about 6 or 7 patrol cars, that's a lot for a normal accident isn't it?
"They must be worried about the situation.
"I saw the policemen measuring things and taking photos of the accident."
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call about this accident at about 6:20a.m.. The driver of the Transcab taxi was trapped and rescued by SCDF within 10 minutes.
He was pronounced dead on scene.
According to The Straits Times, the private bus driver known only as Mr Chong, was ferrying five to six workers at a factory.
He was a Malaysian driving in Singapore for four years, and claimed that he had the right of way at the junction. Both he and the taxi driver had hesitated for a moment, and then decided to keep travelling on their paths.
They collided and the door on the driver's side of the taxi was dented inwards.

Orbi goot. Those KNNBCCB crown always like that one. Anyhow drive. Lim peh nearly kanna few times from them. Very undecisive dunno want to turn left or right. Sometime best no need signal can cut into your lane. Ar bo hog the 1st lane on the highway let me smell their exhaust. Die nevermind still cause congestion on the road, still sabo the bus driver. But also good lah. One less hazard on the road.

Anyway the taxi is coming out from small road. He should not be coming out in the first place. He should let the bus pass before doing his right turn. Now he got the bus driver into trouble, no doubt the bus driver is not at fault but he will be penalised. So why should we pity the errant taxi driver. Isn't better off with one less hazardous driver on the road?

this junction and the next one amk st 23,very dangerous for turning right,no traffic lights and the junction ur vehicle is on is a slope,furthermore turning right the road very busy and wide.u must really pick up speed to turn into amk av3.provided u don't go and bang into a vehicle going straight!that's what happen to him.R,I.P bro TD

Hopefully by end of next year can see the extinct of Toyota crown taxi.....
Mostly very old and lack of proper maintainence.....
Under power somemore, but most TD always thought that their crown si beh powerful.....
Of course due to the cheap rental, some TD still willing to endure on it.....
But life is more important la.....

RIP, most of these red TC crown are those daily rental one, and most of these drivers are like me, half cooked, condemn until cannot condemn liao..or like my former chief kind of character..here not song, throw keys, there not song, throw keys..end up, after many years, all the taxi companies also ban them, then go drive daily rental type lor..then eyes blur blur, hand shaky shaky, lanjiao soft soft, anyhow drive lor...haiz, small road into big road,..even insurance also argue
