met a group of drivers after the new year. everyone say nowsday jialat liao. down down down. the only good is chao chao sure exceed LTA requirement 250km liao. why? becos have to drive around a lot more look for pax mah! those usual spots like magic dry up. no more good old days wait coconut drop liao. if wait means sure yao one some of them were complaining if not drive td, then at 40s 50s do what?? then some joke convert to washer lo. 3k what. still got cpf and overtime! some of them are hanging on hoping things will better. maybe just a temporary thing. but a few old birds say, the good times are OVER.

i think the lull period was between Christmas all the way till New Years Day.
but starting today, slowly its resuming back to normal
2014, there's a few long weekends, this lull period will repeat again

taxi business is like that up and down but still can make some money , rest yup there are dime a dozen soul suckers as taxi drivers go every where sit and talk all bad and -ve to everyone dont listen to them as themselves they are there for like donkey years doing all that to everyone and emotionaly wearing them down , tell them you dont like go throw key

Than everytime met them on the road, knn roof top always "on call".....

Young man you want to be success as TD, pls dont listen to the old cuckoo birds. Now is modern time, our group oso all young and modern drivers, very few old birds. Still we can success maybe even better than the old birds the lau ah peks etc etc. Modern TD can success if have good leaders and sifus to guides them. So dont listen to old cuckoo birds, this forum oso got a few of them, only tcss here and there. Some oso not TD anymore but want to talk big as if know everything, all story is 10 year series one. Some ah pek not TD but will talk like TD - can say $30 enough to survive!! Another claim is army capt, but act here like small boy, post picture here and there, like boy first time play internet computer! So becareful of what you learn from here

If u want to be successful in life, dont be TD.TD is pure hard earn money with high risk, high hazard, many uncontrol factors on the roads and long hours driving that is not good for health. Little money but penalty is extreme high on mistake made. LTA, TP, taxi companies and paxs are always at upper hand when there is dispute. Dont think that got FT convert citizen become TD, then think that TD is also talent.
Most of ppl become TD because no better choice.

Rich but thru unscrupulous means or poor but making a honest living and able to feed a small family and send kids thru university??
Not easy to be a TD and no doubts most became TD because of no better choice, but they still made the difficult decision to be one TD.. If not, there are still choices to be security guards or bus driver where if put in more hours (i.e OT), these jobs can bring in enough $$ to the family use..

Not really, it all depend on how you want to measure successful, but of cos most people will measure it with wealth, but there are people like me and many other TDs in Singapore who measure successful with happiness and peacefulness as the primary needs to be successful, money then become secondary but still a need. I would say that, people trade off their corporate or working life to become a TD have many reasons, from egostic personality to unable to find a decent paid job after 40s to simply like me, wanted a own time own target kind of life...a wandering monk mentality, might find it very successful and meaningful in life rather than working 8 to 5 behind some guarded gates, fenced perimeter and have to look up at faces to earn a living. So, the trade off can be a worthly one depending on how peoples want to look at it, more or less meaning, how open are you can determine how successful life you are, you can be rich, but never see open, day in and out killing others careers, mistresses, family problem, business problem,...money making problem..and so on, I find that wasting life. -

we experienced driver become td by choice becos we like it and know how to cali makan. Yes td maybe cannot become very rich oso maybe veri hard for some ppl got chao pax etc etc. but td we got freedoms and can feed our family nobody disturb. we happi drive meet new friends as tds have our own group forums and meet for kopi, bbq, makan etc etc. who say bad? Lj la those cmi will say bad will tcss. open your eye and see who are the one who say bad here?? Is the ex-td one. then they pretend to teach you how to make it? phui! anybody tell you he happi drive $30 enuf, you ask him go fark spider. This is Indon ah, $30 enuf? all these are craps trying to bluff you one. all those td in here complain complain all this are the cmi ones. you folow them you become like them die one. choose your friend properly choose the correct forum meet the good tds who will teach you good things how to survive and cali makan. But pls hor, dont become like some ppl here, will say xxxxxxx is my sifu or chief. in front of him will say good thing but behind will poke fire, be loyal to your chief, ok?

The buying part is refer to the past, no matter how much you hv, you cannot buy back your babyhood, youthhood and so on, every sec and minutes went by, it is the past. If CK tang knew that he will be having a kidney problem, he will prefer to use his money to buy back the time than going for transplant, what he bought is the future, which will be suffering due to transplant, full medical attention, this cannot eat, that cannot sex...and so on. If he can go back to his teenage time, he will take care of his kidney, and maybe trade off his Tang group to be just a TD -
