Bishan to MBFC is definitely less than 20KM. Why use MCE? Use CTE exit Havelock can liow. Travelling 45km is certainly a ripped off, and over-exaggerated. It's as good as travelling back and forth twice. Who's kidding???

I googled and found out that Sg from East to West is only around 49 km.
If you travel in a straight line at 50km/h, you might reach the other end in one hour.
(25 km north to south in case you are curious)
And we want to squeeze 6.9 million people or more on this tiny island.

Sheares is a name given in honor of our gd former president Benjamin Sheares mah, so, they do not want to let go, but rocher can still start after beach road. Problem is so many drivers did not turn, end up goin into KPE or fort road...say zi tua kuan (go one big round)..knn..Can alway put Sheares Ave (Rocher) mah, cb LTA, like also need to teach???

It does not help,how to help when you are merely diverting traffic?? Ultimately, it will jam up keppel and maxwell, You must understand how our govt works, they like to show off and never want to be shamed, this you must remember, upfront must be nice, all those cork up need to sweep under and prevent others from seeing. You see, Central boulvard are full of foreign businessmen, diplomats, bankers, 5 star hotels with tourists, it will not be nice for people to view out of their glass panelled floor and see a sea of jam...UNDERSTAND!
