Police are investigating a case involving a taxi driver who claims he was assaulted by a group of men on Wednesday morning near Magazine Road.
SINGAPORE: Police are investigating a case involving a taxi driver who claims he was assaulted by a group of men on Wednesday morning near Magazine Road.
Police said they had received a call around 5.50am requesting for assistance, and it was established that a case of dispute had occurred.
Channel NewsAsia understands that the cabby was conscious when he was sent to Singapore General Hospital.
According to the cabby, Sebastian Leo, the incident lasted for about five minutes before he drove off and called the police.
He added that about eight men, who were in the middle of the road, tried to hail his cab but he refused to pick them up as they appeared to be unruly.
This angered the group of men who then kicked his cab and removed the window beside the driver's seat.
He said they went on to assault him while he was still inside the taxi.

He must be trying to wind down to interview "quality" pax, with his GREEN hire light on.
So the moment the driver smell the alcholic, he try to drive away. It trigger those guy and things happen.

I think he was force to stop because he claim that the 8 man standing in the middle of the road....
Magazine Road just a 2 way short street....

Could mean broke the window, but due to recent riot, chief editor might had changed it, what transpired here is that, taxi driver knn ambushed also jai jai drive away, policemen kenna ambush only, leave their cars and run..lols -
