But if they use the excuse of higher maintenance due to more mileage and wear&tear to up the rental, then no point liao.
Their policy of 1 driver system surely make LTA sibeh unhappy. But LTA forgot that its those OMO cabs that are readily available at 5pm in cbd leh....

As I said long ago, at the end of the day, taxi system will become like bus, run on 2 shifts, taxis will be park at a location, both hirers will take the taxis from there, there will be no more driving home and park at car park (which u hv to pay carpark fees), this will also help to free up carparking spaces in HDB.

Taxis companies will then control the changing shift time, taxi parking location will be all over singapore so that hirer living in each town can easily access to it, both hirers must return cab on time, topping up of fuel will be by km. As such taxis will be centralised, servicing also there, put fuel also there, MDT repair also there, parking also there, and I can only give you one tip on a certain location, one is the current Bukit Merah for cdg, for transcab, it could be sungei kadut, pick up buses will be available for changing shift period to MRTs

when that time comes..... many will throw keys and a shortage of drivers will surface.
most ppl drive because timing flexible and can bring cab home....
start work at carpark....end also home carpark...
save parking fees, but pay more for travelling to cab collection/returning point.
taxi companies have to pay for storage of these cabs during the change shift times....and the place is empty for 90% of the time! this translates to increase in rental also.... -
Yes, when the time come, and that is when PRs are allow into cab driving, the govt and taxi companies also treat taxi as a commerical profit churning piece of equipment, and not one that be use at one own usage, of course for taxi companies, at first they heckcare as long as rental are paid. But now with the govt intervention, u will slowing see how the system evolve. The key to our govt is alway control, they want to take control rather than allowing individual to have the flexibliity and control. And I hv to agree to yr perspectives of many will fall out, but let take it from here, if they dun change, nothing will change, and they will dare to change and test the ground, but what is stopping them now is only one reason...the 2016 election

That red engine all this while was in front of you leh.....
Than this kind of road, like Geylang, Jalan Besar, both side also got opportunity to pick up a pax mah....
This case, that pax was a chio bu, if me, will react like that also....
If ah neh, you see he will stop like that or not.....
Very common in Geylang area especially, after midnight, can see taxi serving left to right or right to left just to pick up a fare....

KTC, yah lah. that red engine is infront, but sudden cut into my lane like that, considered dangerous driving liao..... somemore i kena forced into lane 1 and hard brake to avoid collision. i din horn cos i v near pax liao. dun wanna scare them.
i sibeh steady liao. i wave the pax into that yao gui's cab and drive off. knn. 400m down the road also got pax. need to be so yao kui meh?
if i drive forward and block his doors, and wave pax into my cab, his face sure redder than his cab.... these kinda drivers, i phui. -

The ever aging of Singaporeans is showing, and an afluent (educated) population young singaporean is also showing, so no matter how you look at it, thru workshops and seminar, group discussion and planning, taxi driving for locals is now near sunset position. We will take it as not that we want foreigners to drive taxis because we simply want foreigners but because of the demograhpic changes and the environment, the choices to hold on to locals is look bleaker by the years. Just like road repairs, constructions and marine, whereby our aging population are catching up, today nearly 80% of the workforce in these industrial are foreigners. And we simply cannot write taxis trade off, it is a matter of sooner or later. It could be during our times, or it could simply be till we are gone.
