I get nothing from this news... but if they wanna to give me 1% also good liao :-) But i will get feedback from paxs whenever something was mentioned in the papers or news abt TDs which got nothing to do with me. Then just keep quiet lor, tio bo. True, you are right.. with all the jams from CTE to Sle to ah wood, dunno what time they can reached ah wood.. But isn't it the same if they take cab, are they able to avoid the jams? Maybe they could reach ah wood later (by bus) than still have to wait for cabs in cbd?? just maybe I mentioned i'm happy (hopefully all those silly antics by certain TDs will be curbed) and yet sad for the honest driver who really work hard to make a living. MRT and buses can't handled it (everybody knew of that) and that's why they push the jobs to TDs.. But how TDs (not all) handled the situations? You know we know lah.. The situation will be very clear by maybe 5 to 10 years time.. When current cars owners can't afford to get new cars when theirs was scrapped (less congestion OTR) When all MRT lines are up (connectivity to all or most area) and increased the trips frequency. When they solved the breakdown issues.. they are in the progress of changing the rail tracks.. Anyway, what have this got to do with FTs? just curious?

FT intrusion into our society is not new, since the early 70s and 80s of industrialisation, we hv already alots of them, especially the european and japanese. Those are good FT that really came, taught us and blended into our society well, most are more gracious than us. But today FTs...aiyo, from the 3rd world, why? cheap mah. However, not all are bad, some are real good, but compare to last time, most are good. So, these cheapo FT also help our economy in a way, that include taxi driving business, for those who had met problem with cheapo FT, the solution that I have learnt is... Before a Cheapo FT start to show off and order you, fark them hard hard first. Once you fark them hard hard, they will go back to their rat holes and diam diam.

What is the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP)?
Starting from 2012, the Government has partnered the bus operators to significantly increase bus capacity and enhance bus service levels to benefit commuters. Under the BSEP, about 40 new services will be introduced and 800 buses will be added to the existing bus fleet. How will commuters benefit from BSEP?
Under the BSEP, commuters can expect shorter waiting time and more comfortable journeys. About 300 of the 550 buses will be deployed to improve bus frequencies of existing basic bus services. By end 2014, commuters can expect about 10% more capacity on buses along busy routes during peak hours. The public transport operators (PTOs) will also be improving their bus frequencies across the board, during the peak periods.
Better connectivity with new bus services
The 40 new bus services that will be introduced progressively over the next five years represents a 15% increase, up from 261 basic bus services today. Out of the 40, about eight bus services will be parallel bus services that connect major HDB towns to the city area, making use of expressways.
When will commuters’ bus experience improve?
While around 40 new bus services are added progressively over five years, the focus of the initial years will be to improve bus service levels for existing bus services. More of these new buses will be added to provide more capacity on existing bus services during the early years of the BSEP. However, the roll-out of these buses is dependent on the bus procurement and delivery schedule and also driver recruitment and training.Overall, commuters can look forward to more frequent bus services and more comfortable journeys, with the new BSEP buses progressively added from September 2012 onwards.
City Direct Bus Services – Your One Ride to the CBD
Commuters travelling to the city can look forward to better connectivity between their homes and the Central Business District (CBD) with 10 new City Direct Bus Services in towns such as Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok, Eunos, Hougang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Sembawang, Sengkang and West Coast.
This new bus service, known as "City Direct", is operated by private bus operators and the first service has started operating on 2 September 2013, from Jurong West to the CBD. The rest of the City Direct Bus Services will be progressively launched in the other towns from January 2014.
With limited stops and the use of expressways, commuters using these services would have comparable journey time to taking a connecting bus or LRT service and transferring to the MRT into the city.
The City Direct services will make two one-way trips on weekday mornings from the respective housing estates towards the CBD. Similarly, two one-way trips will take commuters back home from the city in the evenings. More trips may be added depending on the demand for the services. The bus services will operate on weekday peak periods excluding public holidays. -
