Local road conditions

Do u feel local roads are getting more bumpy lately, plenty of road works here and there, shared lanes causing much confusion when those want to turn, don't show signal
best roads are those near airport and towards airport.

Still better than chennai, manila, chonqing and yangon lah

one small question ah, if let say road is bad condition, then somehow maybe tire drop in or hit then how ah

Looking at the bigger pictures.....
Without all this works, it will be like a domino effect.....
Many people will be jobless and many companies will go bust also.....
Most time, I think of that, anger will go off a little bit lor.....

Guidelines on blocking roads: LTA replies
Published on Nov 08, 2013WE THANK Mr Ronnie Poon Beng Choon for his letter ("Any guidelines on blocking roads?"; Oct 31).
Under the Street Works Regulations, utility agencies that need to carry out work on the roads are required to apply to the Land Transport Authority for a roadworks permit before their contractors are allowed to occupy the road.
The agencies and contractors are also required to comply with a set of guidelines to ensure road safety, and proper traffic flow and control.
As part of the guidelines, roadworks contractors are generally allowed to close only one lane to carry out work on the roads.
In the event of a traffic build-up, the contractors are required to reopen the lane to alleviate any congestion.
With regard to the extent of the road to be cordoned off, there are guidelines to determine the safety distance required.
For the safety of motorists and workers, cones are placed upstream of the work area to prevent motorists from crashing into the area.
The length of the cordon varies depending on the speed limit of the road, with a longer distance required on a road with a higher speed limit.
This is to allow sufficient distance for motorists to manoeuvre and merge safely with traffic on the adjacent lane.

1 thing about all this road digging....
Each contractor like Singtel la, M1 la, PUB la, apply same place, different date & time to dig that stretch of road.....
The whole project will include covering back the place they dig hor.....
No passing baton 1 hor....
So you say leh, Sg goberment jiak liao bee right? cannot all contractors do 1 hole at same time meh? knn.....

All do one holes, I dun mind gangbang, but some men do not like mah, they like privacy, so you hv to respect them.

Hahaha, joke aside.....
Than sometime after this contractor finish their job, they never cover the hole properly.....
LTA will sent in their main contractor to fine tune that cb hole....meaning to level up the road.....
And the best part is, after fine tune that hole, next contractor will cum in and start digging liao.....
Now you know where all the tax payers money go to.....

Well, today many deads are cremated, so what you expect all these hole digger to do? dig road lor. Any building or house build near yr house, you will see digging again, to connect pipelines and cables again, then another new plant build up, again reopen and dig again, then found out somewhere leaking, dig again..

agree... taman warna (opp holland village) is a classic example.
used to be a smooth road, now after all the digging, the stretch of road is fcuking bumpy.. not sure if its a perm or temporary arrangement
