SMRT launching toyota prius 20 oct. think about 200. now aggressively getting existing hirer to take. but not easy i think.
firstly prius drive petrol, then rental is bout 133 before gst, and flag down 3.80. how long to peng steering???
azera, (drink cng n petrol) use to offer at around 100, low takers, go down to 80 then taken up.
rather go for epica in this case.

Rental prices are now moving up more higher and faster than before, within months, rental prices can move up here and there. Base on a backdrop of high COE and high cost of living, this is inevitable.
Let do some math base on my Sex 2 education
$133 per day pick up 20 paxs at $3.80 flag down fare Verus a $117 (latest) sonata with the same nos of pax but flag down only $3.20.
So, the different is 60cents X 20 paxs= $12
That is also said to be pirus having only $12 advantages over a sonata. 133-117=$16
$16-12=$4 differences given the same nos of paxs
Then on top of that, fuel is the next issues, Pirus will ultimately use less fuel due to hybrid, and that will be an advantage over sonata or epica.
Then another point to take note are the benefits, what are the benefits given for driving pirus, sonata and epica and so on, weight the differences, then you decide yourself.
And then come to personal preferences, Pirus are weaker in hp and smaller in comparing to epica and sonata, and pple like bro hammer will look cute with pirus
All taxi companies had done their math, although different companies, they are also kind of oliarchy in nature, meaning act together, you hug me, i scratch your back kind of business because at the end of the day, their utimate motive is to make money from rental and drivers like you and me.
Base on this, all I can said as a lau jiao, not lan jiao hor, is that whatever cabs you rent out, do a basic summary and decide on it, other than that, the most important thing is paxs, if on the road no pax, drive smlj cabs also OBK

Trust me, new car, new smell, sure got takers 1, maybe must queue also.....
Currently taxi coy are more worry about "2nd hand" taxi especially those new taxi, only drive 6-9 months type.....
Many TD like to hiong taxi coy nowadays.....

The color they will use is default manufacturer's color !
Just put company sticker will do , save cost
just like epica , moroon is the default manufacturer's color
same for crysiler, manufacturer got black color
SMRT corporate color is beige btw ...
Same for prime no pride ...

I believe rental will be rising even higher in future,my carpark got afew Renaults appearing already,guess got ppl still take leh no matter how high is the rental
maybe "they" trying to push out omo to 2 driver per vehicle scheme with high rentals,my turn is also coming soon after my lau sonata go scrap,wondering wats the new rental would be...

As far as I know when I download pirus, all are same color as SMRT epica, assembled in thailand, parts make in Japan.

based on LTA stats,
omo-19 pax, 10km per pax => 190km average (meter running) plus empty cab at times, maybe hit 250km.
gross about $200. $133 rental cannot omo....sure die.2 drivers-29 pax, 10km per pax. => 290km (meter running) plus empty cab at times, hit 400km (night time more empty mileage)
gross about $350 (combine 2 drivers) still can tahan $133 rental, but each earn less. -
LTA statistics is for LTA references, not for TD.
Notice that from jan till aug, there is actually a reduction of Taxis on the road, most companies scraped their cabs, from transcab to premier, however, the increase nos are on prime and as usual, Cdg blue and yellow.
What does this tell you?
With no doubts more are getting TDVL even with O level entry. But most only use it as last resort. TD is something like entering monkhood. Till the end, cannot take the society, become a TD, peace and harmony shall prevail. That is also why I use to say, drive TD must be happy and relax, if every day kpkb, hiam tang hiam sia like my bro Ah Fu, then better go back to working life.

I older than you lor, whatever it is, dun just drive for the sake of driving and tell yourself you got a job, but actually everyday struggling to earn and pay rental and fuel, that will end up as null.
Driving taxis is not driving for company, it is for yourself. For whatever reason, if you keep driving without much income or no income or worst, have to compensate yourself, then you go figure it out, is it time better to be security guards, want to be one,...give me a call, so many yards want to employ
