[Stomp] Cyclist toys with danger by riding closely behind big lorry
STOMPer Michael sent in a video of a cyclist who toyed with danger by riding closely behind a big lorry with a full load on its back.
The 28-second video, originally uploaded on facebook, shows the male cyclist following closely behind the right-rear side of the lorry, and potentially putting himself in danger if the lorry driver were to jam on the brakes suddenly.
According to comments left by the netizen who uploaded the video, he came across this cyclist along Nicoll Highway and was concerned for his well-being, asking in a description accompanying the clip: "What will happen if there is an accident?"
It is unknown when the netizen came across this cyclist though the video was uploaded onto the social networking site on Saturday morning (Oct 12).
In his report, the STOMPer wrote:
"It will be good to feature this video of a guy cycling on the highway.
"I hope this video can spread the message also that cycling on major roads like expressways is not allowed as well."
This is the second incident related to the conduct of cyclists on the road this week, after another rider was caught on video beating a red light, and attempting to provoke a driver into a confrontation.
Last week one morning 2.00am+, I was driving along West Coast Highway (Keppel viaduct).
Three Ang Mo Cyclist riding parallel in left lane, one of them almost cut into right lane, for safety reason, I horn at them, FxxK one of them show me a centre finger.
@#$%&*@#$%&*, MIW import all these FT and treat them like their (MIW) father, ended all these FT Yaya Papaya in Our Home.
(One more time is inside CTE tunnel before orchard exit, Two Ang Mo Cyclist oso like their father road riding, I am turning to orchard exit, they are heading towards CTE Havelock tunnel, so for safety reason, I horn at them, ended with them show me a centre finger.)

Halo Bro, Ang Mo bicycle, I need to peng steering 3 mths then can buy Ok.
But then, no matter who is right or wrong, once you hit a bicycle, seibei troublesome liao, all fingers will be pointing at you..that is why, some of this knnccb cyclist take this advantage
Some bicycle their speed very fast 1....
You thought you throw him far far liao, suddenly he appear in front of you again....
suddenly, no one talks abt dangerous motorcyclists anymore.....bcos cyclists are even more dangerous!!!
a few things LTA need to look at:
1. cyclists allowed on the road if they follow traffic lights and rules....but do all know the rules?
2. motorcyclists now have highway familiarisation module....car drivers have boh??? no need meh?

The developing countries like mynamar, indian, bangadeshi and so on bring about their bicycle riding cutlure and style into our country
The china chinese also bring about their way of cycling into our country
Then the ang mo bring about their tour de france style of cycling into our country
So, what do you all think?
Sometime, I walk on a walking pavement also get ting ting from behind by bangalah asking you to siam..Walking pavement is for???
The Govt must educate the cyclists that Singapore road is not a cycle friendly road, even we Singaporean will mostly only cycle at ECP as leisure. In a scarcity of land, this is not china, not india nor bangala or europe, this is a land whereby per sq foot can cost $2000.
Do you know that HK ban cycling on their business district and prime area??

But our goberment encourage park and ride leh....
I see ah neh, ah tiong cycling across pedestrian crossings instead of pushing their bikes, making us look like bloody third world country. I see them cycling on pedestrian walkways, expressways and against traffic on the roads. From first world to third as far as our traffic situation is concerned with all these ppl flooding here.
LTA better do something about these third world ppl bringing their bad habits into Singapore. I suspect they will revert to licensing cyclists soon.
Lets wait for some MIW bang into some tour de france ang moh.....then see who dua kee lor.

Not fark and ride meh? You see, our govt is playing hippocracy here, telling us to save the world, go green, enviromental friendly, end up use diesel, petrol and so on, even at power plant. Why? because these generate more money for them, if you go solar, they can go bankrupt hor.
Same apply here, ask pple to go green, ride bicycle if can...then end up not providing track for bicycle because of space constrain, why not just ban bicycle on certain road, if you can put ERP on road, why not control bicycle riding, no bicycle at CBD area, expressway and certain highway like west coast highway...and so on.
So, i ask you, can bicycle ride on red bus lane in town?

The answer is Yes...
Emergency Vehicles and Bicycle are allowed to use the bus lane.
Emergency, I agree can use any lanes including geyland backlane which I use to go and collect body.
But for bicycle, cycling in holland and french need licence in some of it prime area, especially holland, all cyclist must attend high way code and cycling lessons, and holland today is the world most cycle friendly country. They hv a car lane, a walking lane and a cycle lane in most of their heartland town road, bicycle must obey all traffic rules, and can get fines and licence revoked just like cars on the road.
Now is singapore doing that...cycling on red bus lane??
So much so that you want to promote cycling in singapore, yet you are not providing the infrastructure, the education and the safety aspect of cycling, all I can say is, fark up

You must learn to understand business, one kind of business is yes, sell more, make more. Another kind is no, sell less, but make lagi more. With today COE prices and quotas given, you think govt is making money out of selling more or selling less?
Today 1 COE is equivalent to 3 years ago 3 to 4 certificates, so why need to sell more?
