  This is a very subjective and debatable topic. Shortest trip may not be the fastest and cheaper trip due to traffic condition and additional ERP charges. With the ever construction works and tree-pruning activities all over Singapore roads, how can one determine what's the best route to use... useless the pax agree while boarding.

  I once took a pax from Bukit Panjang asking to go to Raffles Hotel during morning peak hours. He asked to use BKE> PIE> Sims Ave> Nicholl highway. Normally, the TD would recommend BKE> PIE> Stevens> Dunearn> North Bridge.

  Over-charging happens when TD apply additional location charge at the wrong time or at the wrong pick-up poiny

  Ya lor...thousands of ppl kena cheated by time share scheme, they oso cannot do anything to help these ppl get their money back..

  KNN Liar....From Shang to Pagar is 6km the fare is not $6 unless you take a sampan with $3 starting fare it is $6.08 provided no jam lah. So heng meh all the way green light. Want to kid who?

  Sometimes u must listen to pax let them choose their way. Unless they dunno, ask u then u lead them to fastest way. Even thought I'm nit TD.

  Yalor, first ask pax where they are going, then ask pax for any preferred road, then if pax said, just follow lor, but if pax said anyway.....THAT IS THE CUE to be EXTRA CAREFUL. Many taxi drivers thot pax said up to you mean ho seh liao,...but end up drink kopi tua tua cup.

  Therefore when pax said, up to your or they also dunno the way or that you taxi driver should know the best way..stay calm, map out a road and tell pax your intention of the road to the destination, at the same time, once near pax destination, most would had recognized their place, let them take over. I know many garang taxi driver die die never want to ask and straight drive up shangrila lobby, but pax may want to drop somewhere near shangrila or another  part of shangrila, residences or maybe cook house.

  Pax are not stupid people, once they see the way you ask and talk, they knew they cannot take you on, so, never be an agent of agression/trouble, instead be an agent of safe and sound. Never get angry when pax accuse you of something, agitation is sometime a master stroke of some nasty pax.

  Finally, if pax do not know the road, and you also do not know the road, then ask pax to take the next available cab.

  save yourself trouble ask pax got preferred route.

  if don't have ask want go by shorter or faster route.

  until now all my pax choose faster route which is normally longer and more expensive but time saved is significant.

  If make mistake, just say sorry with sincerity. Pax usually will forgive. Some TDs like to argue. Their ego bigger than their brain. That's why.
