best part is he become one just for the vehicle for his daily transport.
drive to make $ when the got spare time, else cover cost, it becomes his own vehicle.
he drive only about 7 hours a day, diring peak hours only

But hor, LTA gonna increase minimum daily mileage from current 250km soon and got penalty if dun meet. Cos, they noe COE so high, many ppl use taxi as their own vehicle.

Earning power is just a gross, the net of it, include the spending that involve personal life characteristics.
One can earn $300 net per day, why end up still asking $50 from me, who only earn $30 net?
There are many cabbies who drove taxis in most part of their life and still able to bring foods to the table, send 2 kids to University, graduated with honours and manage to go holiday with family once a year.
So, i believe you are just merely quoting yourself, without driving taxis, you think you get that ladyluck??

If Daddy do a decent honest job, work with his hand and brain for a decent paid, I believe as his kid, that will be the best dad, all other things being materialistic, if Daddy is a TD, from a different perspectives, a kid should not think his or her daddy is condemned by the society.
At least he is not corrupted (not that he do not want, but no chance), do sex for grade, sex for contract and sex for flavour..what more can you aske from such a daddy.

No doubt TD is a decent job, but what I mean is, these day, just by driving taxi, we want to sent our kid to University is dreaming only.....
Ended up must "borrow" in order to fulfill, "borrow" in a proper channel I mean....
Those day, si mi drive taxi, with the earning, don't need to "borrow" type already long gone, some say is because of inflation, limpek say is because of........you go fill in the blank.....

If there is a will, there is a way, driving taxis today is not the worst paid job.
Borrowing and loaning is actually in financial term, a smart move, no smart business will use their own money, and if you are investing on the future of your kids, no harm to get a loan, study well and be someone, pay back the due him or herself, rather than giving an opportunity but cannot go thru because father is a peniliess TD.
Every business are on loan, so are many education, at the end the day, in a capitalism society as us, you can alway declare bankrupt till then

Driving taxi or doing any other business won't produce a "Uni kids".....
A "Uni kids" is by 70% potential and 30% hardwork lor(You know that hokkien song
), is not how rich their daddy is, although these days with money, local U cannot get in, still can go oversea and becum scholar lor.....But if your children have the potential and get into a local U, you think just as a taxi drivers can sarpork those heavy expenditure?.....like last time?.....

u know my friend, he want drive i40 or take the old sonata, he go sin Ming, they tell him must wait. My friend tell them, behind so many car, y must wait?? He kena suan by the DRO, the taxi all got people take already, still got long list of waiting. (Maybe property agent and car salesman)
if TD no good tan, why queue so long??
u go ask ur limo $162.xx Merc friends lah. They bo ho tan?? Y so many still continue driving?? U see the new Viano, 1 dat $163.xx, all the old maxi also change. Bo Ho tan y they still drive??
human being is like that, ppl ask them ho tan or not, sure they say no lah, they dun want u to join in competition mah. GOD is also good to man.. When the time comes, men sure can find a way to find money, if they dun gamble or owe ppl money, sure got a way for them to survive one..

I still will loud loud say this sentence....
When I started TD that time, limpek si beh law lan 1, no matter how many hour I put into taxi driving, pocket always less than $xxx.....
People who gone through my stages will understand what I mean.....
If for example, I'm those kanna retrend, got a sum of money to roll type, life will be different as a TD.....
And I say again, I'm referring to TD who hardly can survive type, not jiak ba buy pau TD hor.....

Maybe I'm "unlucky", I have gone through every possible "route" of a taxi drivers cycle.....
And I'm talking about at least for the last 10 years, not 60s or 70s or even 80s.....
Very difficult to explain what I had gone through and I believe currently at least 70% of TD are like me last time.....
And I only hit my lady luck 2,3 years back, and after that than I realised why some TD can be so "ya ya papaya" in taxi driving.....
But my thinking is very different from many people, given me a chance to get out of TD life, I will sure get out, I will never be a sucker for the taxi coy.....
I did say before, when I law lan, lan lan got to peng steering, lan lan got to see taxi coy face, arbo how? knn everyday pay rental, pay diesel, bill come, don't know which holes to cover.....
And I'm a very hardworking TD hor.....
But given a chance, still be a sucker?....
My friend ask me, why don't drive taxi relax relax? and do other thing at the same time like some others.....
My thinking, Lj than I will pay rental for nothing to feed taxi coy.....
