FI is started as a rich man game, Football is started as a street game and get commericalised. Every countries will have football and those basic game like badminton, table tennis and so on, but not F1, because it is not a normal sport, it is a recreational challenge for the rich,
in the begining, a few rich men decided to race their sport car, they decided on the rules, challenged each others on a circuit or road they bought for themselves, and then their sons joined in, then crashes, sometime sons died, sometime father died, so end up they being rich, do not want to take the risk, and start to engage drivers, make them professionals, and they just watch and bet among themselves.
As times goes by, with a mentality of business in mind, they start to lure others in, make it commericalise and earn money out of it. And pples like you start to adore and idolise it, perfectly fine, but not to the extend in saying it is a normal sport.

Er....bowling is not an Olympic game although it is played by more ppl over the world than any other sport. All these Olympics, SEA games etc very political one. December SEA games in Myanmar got no bowling but got traditional chinlone, vovinam, petanque and kempo. WTF.

Some sport couldn't participate in Olympic is because due to the tight schedule of their own domestic competition.....
Are you aware that Olympic football is play by a bunch of youth players?.....

Considering the team’s consistent finishes in the rear of the pack for 2008—beating out only Force India and Super Aguri in constructor-championship points—Honda Racing’s dropout should have little effect on the 2009 season.

As I said, it can be a sport in the eyes of the beholden.
As we breed and cultured, we all hv different school of thought, everything also exert physical attributes and preparation, even cooking contest, fashion contest and children art contest and so on.
How you define it (which you alway choose to take google) is up to individual, like for me, I take google as a tool, a reference, but certainly, not a one information centre that represent everything.
I guess posting here over F1 over our differences lead to no value by it nature, let take it as a different view, perspectives and culture. gum bo?
