Fetch 4 pinoys from Mosque St to Studio-M. Use Outram>CTE>Clemencance. Upon entering CTE, 1 pinoy asked why I travel this way. I cant tahan and fuck him off. Upon reaching destination, his friends apologised to me profusely. Fare only less than $6. knn
To me, seems like a slight detour.
Better to go via new bridge u turn to eu tong sen, upp cross > havelock > saiboo
u never ask for pax preferred route? Sometimes even is obvious, let them tell u their preferred route
poor thing, normal fare, no CBD surcharge some more
Thanks for feedback.
If from Golden Landmark V Hotel to Paragon, what's the best route to use on weekdays at say 1pm?

I always tell them....i make the extra few cents from you, wont make me a millionaire.... cos i still need fuel one. so travel detour, i lugi lor.... i rather drop and pick another one quickly.

To be fair,
Taxi drivers tend to have a guilty conscious mind, we are in a way, never like to be quesitoned on our way of driving. So are many other jobs, most people do not like to be question for their work, especially more so are those who never accept advices and comments.
But we have to understand that people have the right to question us, especially in a capacity of a customer, what we can do is calm down, smile and ask them back, what is the road they used to travel then just apologise for the sake of earning a living, and also thanks them for enlightening a new ways. Things can end up with keep the change, all these lies in our hand.
And since it lies in our hand, including the steering wheels, it is up to us to make it a nice trip or a lousy one. The way we approach a question by pax must be in the respect of a service provider and a consumer relation.
A question is not wrong, but due to self guilty conscious, TD tends to feel offended, especially so for those driving for years, to them, it is a degrading of self ego and pride. But then, take a closer look, it is just a question.
cover yourself lah. either ask route or give route, unless super near.

"Uncle, why you go by this way?"
I hate this question, it just make people piss off
Some short cut, as a TD, we kian tio ho, mai kay kian....
From Tanglin to Bukit Merah, cutting thru Jln Tiong and Hoy fatt is not short cut, is the normal route to use, provided you going to Jln Kilang area.....
Short cut meaning like some housing estate, unless you stay around there, than you will know how to zoom in and zoom out of carpark, arbo you will still use the traditional road to reach destination, than most time pax will guide you if they know the short cut but doesn't mean that next time you will use it with other pax, it will becum kay kian....
In Bukit Timah also, traditional way of u-turning here or there is not wrong, if pax ask why don't cut in here and there, than politely ask him to guide you because we don't stay there mah, but next time pick different pax, don't kay kian use those "short cut" lor....
Tanglin.. turn rt alexandra... 1st left turn to back of tye hong carpk.. turn rt out to leng kee.. turn left up to hoy fatt... turn rt to jln bt merah... turn left to destination jln kilang barat....
All in 1 move.... pax jaws drop

All in 1 move.... pax jaws drop
????
Down from Tanglin Rd, hit Alexandra junction, go straight, a curve, turn right to Jln Tiong, all the way follow the road, will hit Hoy Fatt Rd leh.....
The pax jaws drop is what meaning, shock that you turn 1 round?.....
Using Leng Kee only when you come down direction from Commonwealth, but some pax still prefer you to turn right toward Alexandra Ikea.....
Than if going to AYE from Tanglin.....
Same, Alexandra junction go straight all the way, past Redhill MRT, hit Tiong Bahru Junction, turn right, go straight all the way will hit AYE/ECP.....
If going Bukit Merah Central, same route, turn from Redhill Close, 1 way traffic, come out will be beside SPC petrol kiosk, immediately keep right, junction either u-turn or turn right.....

Some use Henderson junction also.....
From Tanglin, only going towards direction like PSA building or Mapletree City, than will turn right.....

If evening rush hour.....
Outram will be very jam, especially waiting to turn right into CTE.....
Than that stretch at CTE also very unpredictable.....
And between 6-7pm, Clemenceau Road is always back to back tail back, why? Because ERP for CBD turning into Clark Quay is the highest at $3 and many cars like to use this road to go Orchard area.....

But if you perfectly understand that this question is not going to go away, and that it is part and parcel of any kind of customer in any trade concern, you will not be pissed off, this is what I call Taxi driving enlightenment.
Believe it or not, we TD are also doing what pax is doing, as customer to restaurants, to clothing shop, to market shop to coffeeshop, we at time will also ask the seller,
howcome this fish so salty,
how come your rice no well cooked,
why I ask for kopi cau, you give me kopi poh,
why your shop got no XL size shirt meh?
How do you think the seller will think and react, he or she will be like us, being prompted and asked on the 4Ws and 1 H questions. And all these voice down to control and calm, with control and calmness, you will be able to hold fort your position to answer.

Rush hour, SMLJ roads near CBD also jam lah

Thanks. I used this same route so as to avoid additional ERP charges using Stamford Rd. The fare was $9+. But upon reaching destination, the PRC tourist fucked me why so expensive when his other group using another taxi was much cheaper. I'm driving a Sonota. After collecting the fare, I say fuck off Ah Tiong

This I agree. It's just that pax always have the suspicion that TDs are out to cheat them by taking long route.

BTW, these pinoys, with haversacks, seems like tourists wanting to tranfer hotels. Not that I say, how well do they know Singapore roads and road conditions?
