Premier Taxis to raise peak-hour booking surcharge from Sun

SINGAPORE : Booking a Premier cab during peak hours will cost more from Sunday. Premier Taxis, the third smallest of seven taxi operators in Singapore, will raise its peak-hour booking surcharges by $1 to $4.50. The move is to encourage cabbies to take up call-booking jobs. Premier’s Assistant Vice-President for Fleet Operations Melvin Ng said: “As per any other industry, product prices are adjusted for supply to meet demand. Indeed, there is a shortage of taxis during peak period mainly due to passengers’ travelling pattern and taxi availability. The price increase is to encourage the supply of taxi services.� The current booking fee for its normal silver cabs during peak periods is $3.50, higher than the $3.30 charged by larger operators like ComfortDelGro and SMRT Taxis. There is no word if other taxi operators intend to follow Premier’s move in raising surcharges. Peak periods are between 6am and 9.30am on weekdays, excluding public holidays, and between 6pm and 12am every day.

The fact is, they trying to discourage commuter to call, they buey tahan diam diam tio orh gong bu lta.

Alway remember that in anything taxi companies do, it alway had or has a ulterior motive to it own advantages.Therefore, do not get fooled by them. Whatever new or changes in policies will alway induce in 3 main objectives,
1st and foremost, to increase the company profit margin:
To do that, either increase rentals or get more hirers or both
2nd, to satisfy the authority in concern with reasonable doubts:
That is about LTA, they must show a good nos of taxis on the road hitting the mileage requirement, and even if they cannot or borderline cases, at least they got a reason to tell LTA, we have do this and that, help driver to earn more...and so on
3rd, to provide good service at a premier price that dig on consumer.
By telling the public that they are the premier that command a certain price and you are sure to get a driver at your door step, they end up enforcing the drivers to take their calls. PhuiXXX

no lah. they trying to make bookings very ex...so less calls come in,
means less will complain lor.
means less likely to screw the kpi and thus kena screw by LTA.
if no calls, even better!

When booking come, you have 3 choices:
1. Accept
2. Reject
3. Ignore
If you ignore, also considered rejection hor...
This kind of policy only Premier can implement on their drivers. TC, you try?...dunno wat will happen..

TC no need to try lah, their incentives is the one that attract hirer and is consider as one of the best benefit of driving for TC, however, once TC reduce or take away that incentives,

its best not to take calls fm cdg now, most of the time, paxs r late..
plus a few no show, will feel more like a clown than a cabby..

Mine is different, cos I drive crown, I usually make pax look like a clown.Some see me only, bluff bluff never see, but uncle had learn from facial expression, this farker see crown, dun want to take..nabey
