However simple the practise may be, and even though there may be online guides for it, it is still better to meet a dharma teacher who can guide you, see your posture, and give clear instructions, and answer your questions. And the Right Motivation for Anapanasati practise is also very important:

In accordance to Buddhadharma, it is unadvisable seeking of any forms of spiritual powers as that may create a link to the lower realms.
Powers gained by a Buddhist through dhyana (meditation) is absolutely different from those that has to do with spirits. However it shld be noted that (from the point of view of a Buddhist), we should never meditate with the intention for psychic powers, that is Wrong Motivation (google for 8 Fold Path), and may even easily enter a deviate path easily influenced by the Maras (see Shurangama Sutra). Psychic powers is only a byproduct and shld not be taken as an ultimate aim. May we avoid walking to a dark path. -

There is always a danger - even if you enter into Jhanic stages with the intention to be psychically powerful.
Furthermore, a person who attains Jhana, yet without insight, could use his powers to harm other people (example Devadatta, who attempted to kill Buddha 4 times but failed)
