  Asura is an Indian word, and is known throughout India. I also did not know Taoist adopted this term... but what I believe is Taoists have a different interpretation of Asuras.
  
  The Asuras are enemies of the devas and constantly wage war against them. They have great hatred, jealousy, etc.
