Kitten survives wash & spin
SYDNEY - A PERSIAN kitten gave her owners the shock of their lives when she emerged from the washing machine, dizzy and bedraggled after surviving a full cycle.
Brendon Rogers, from Manly Vale, Sydney, said four-month-old Kimba, a white, fluffy kitten, must have climbed into the front-loader machine when the door was open and curled up on the dirty clothes - unknown to his father Lyndsay who turned the machine on for a cold wash.
They were both amazed when the cycle - including a high level spin - finished and they opened the door to pull out the clothes to find Kimba in the machine.
'We could hardly believe our eyes when she emerged, looking like a drowned rat,' he told Reuters.
Although Kimba was alive she clearly needed help so they rushed her to the vet where she was put on an intravenous drip and treated for shock and hypothermia. Her eyes were also badly affected by the detergent and needed treatment.
'It is just amazing that she survived but we reckon she's used all of her nine lives,' said Mr Rogers. -- REUTERS

so the moral of the story is to check before using your washing machine..
best is to close the lid tight..hope the kitty will recover soon & learn its lesson..

But hope this one recovers well. ALthough i find the photo a little hilarious but a closer look at it near the mouth looks like a little bloated. i hope its just naturally the cats physical apperance and not due to the spining or water flooding. but clearly the lady at the back was finding it amazing that the cat hid inside the washer and actually survivied.

what would happen if an infant is in the washing machine instead? infant would have been drowned and brain damage, probably wont survive.

Highly true. however do not think too much about it because it is highly unlikely an infant willland inside a washer, unless someone plans a murder.This kitty probably was aloow to roam freely around the house and cats are always curious and willing to explore and sleep in cosy inconspicious places so this one couldn't get out in time before the owner press the button.
Maybe after this incident they will set up some form of boundaries within the house, or check the extire washload the next time everytime they wash or spin.

Sometimes cats tends to do funny things, like this one.
If you see the danger involved if the bags cannot be removed in time maybe the cat may suffocated.
