Help! My cat has a balding butt!

Bag as in, those long travel ones with a zip on top... then when I carry the cat inside, erm I don't know how I'm going to do it, but it doesn't matter now cos I remember my dog has a travel bag I can use for the cat

Here is a picture of my cat:
See that balding spot at the butt? The way it balds, it looks like someone cleanly shaved off that portion, leaving the base coat behind.
But I don't think so because... the way it looks, it doesn't look like someone really shaved it off.
And as you can see, the rest of the cat's fur is fine - soft and furry!

i'm putting him on the science diet food for overweight cats, but i don't think it's working -

i know in joo chiat rd theres this store called Boulevard Pies, near the durian puff specialist Puteri Mas, and they sell gigantic pies. My mom once bought a few from there and they gave us a gigantic box, bigger than cake boxes -

I don't know where it went at all. I took a walk around my house but I didn't see the cat.
I'm worried that it may have been caught by the AVA, since they had been in my area to cull cats once recently (my cat was hiding at home then). But it wears a flea collar and has its ear snipped to show that it's sterilized!
I should've brought it for microchipping earlier! This is the second cat that ran away. If it doesn't come back, I don't think I want to keep cats anymore. -

we found our cat after 7 days... in the drain near where our car was parked... (worse... she was pregnant then)...
