Help! My cat has a balding butt!

  Errrrrr. Yes, his butt is balding.
  
  I don't know if it's shedding, because he lives in my backyard and I've not noticed a large amount of fur anywhere.
  
  It's almost like he's shedding alot of fur, until only the base coat is left, and that the shedding begins at the butt part.
  
  I thought it could be because he keeps squeezing through the fence even though he's already a little too fat for that. But I think the loss of fur is spreading.
  
  Is there something wrong?
  
  And if I have to bring my cat to the vet, how should I do so? The moment I put him into the pet voyager, he starts to run back and forth, making it extremely difficult for me to carry it. Furthermore, like, he weighs a ton.

  I really like fat cats. Cats look the cutest when they are lazy and when u see a lazy and fat cat and just lie there looking at you....it is just so cute

  Yeah! Me too! my cat's like, he'll come and rub himself against me, then suddenly he'll plop down (there is a thud sound) and lie down, then roll around. I think other cats do this too.
  
  And because he's fat, when he rolls on his back with tummy facing up, his belly is like, somewhere like twice as wide as his head. And the fur on his belly is all white and really soft and furry and nice to touch
