Cats that scratch~

Hmm, i've heard from my friend who has cats, that Cats scratch you when they are playing with you. Is that true..?
After all, i've been scratched a few times by the cats that i play with in the streets. If that's the case, then how come only half of them scratch me..?

My skin not weak, but they get caught up in the fabric of my jeans sometimes... gets a bit messy..~ (no, no blood at all) -
When you play with kittens, they'll end up 'scratching' you because when they're very young, they don't have full control over their claws yet and am still unable to retract them. It's only when they've grown up a little bit more that they learn to control their claws and gain mastery over claw retraction. That's why you'll notice that your older pet cat does not scratch you.

My cat does that too. It doesn't really scratch, but it extends its claws and touches me with his paws... and then with both front paws, it grabs my hand, refusing to let go, and then starts to put his teeth there... doesn't bite, he just likes to put his teeth there and pretend to want to bite.Originally posted by Patrik:My Kiki scratched me when i stroked its belly when it was lying down...LOL
