$24 million was allagedly siphoned off to fund Sun Ho's career, and $26 million was diverted to cover up the fact. This was all alleged by the prosecution.
The authorities wouldn't try to pull this off if they didn't have a solid case.
I ain't Christian, but even I know that the word of God could be better spread by spending that $24 million on, say, educational bursaries for disadvantaged students or financial aid for poverty-stricken families.
you know what is strange? there are deluded followers of this "church" who are beside themselves defending the guy, saying he didn't do it..
this is just like the other self-professed "preachers" in the US who were nothing more than con-artists fleecing their congregation...
let's see what happens to the place after the trial... i have a feeling CAD has a concrete case against them before taking them on considering the sensitivities involved...
morning folks
mmm... supermarket are saying prices of rice will remain until end of e year
of course la, rice harvesting period is at the end of the year...
lol
50 million is a sh!tload of dough that could have done so much.
And yet there are those who thinks its "for a good cause".
To put things in perspective, this amount far out-strips any outright financial aid our govt gives for international disasters!
Of course, that doesnt include physical humanitarian aid, but you get my point.

At bangladesh, harvesting season is over 1 month ago, and now the floods have started.
Latest news say that Chittagong and Sylhet, 2 places where I have travelled to, are now flooded and experiencing killer landslides.

The zombie from Florida was simply on marijuana, according to the toxicity report.

the Indian subcontinent is a mess..
the terrible Pakistani floods a couple of years ago killed a whole lot of people and displaced millions.. until today, the stagnant floodwaters from that time is still there and the drains which were supposed to be cleared so that the next floods will not be so devastating are still clogged and no one is clearing the drains...
the minister insists that they are getting ready for the floods and insists that these plans will not come to fruition until about 5 years down the road...
yet they have nuclear weapons...

Unsurprisingly, nobody I spoke to, from Indians, to Banglas, and even the Chinese are fond of Pakistan.
At best, they considered it to be a screwed-up country with plenty of poor people but with nukes.
At worst, they considered it to be a huge trouble-maker with no qualms about sponsoring attacks on India and spawning terrorists.

Does not help that they are muslim and they really misbehave overseas
Last year saw a Pakistani family dining in Crystal Jade Imperial Palance at Taka
I think they are a little less disliked compared to the Arabs
On the other hand, based on accounts of Ng Wai Choy, the way he describes ordinary Pakistanis mirrors my experiences with the banglas.
In fact, he considers Egypt to be amongst his less pleasurable experience.

if you go down to the grassroots, people are people...
unless they get screwed up by their lea-duhs like the Taliban or the CHC, then they become irritating and sometimes downright dangerous
I've been watching the great-granddaddy of all English-dubbed anime in my spare time....
Never mind about the supposedly more 'primitive' animation..... it had a lot more character and heart than today's (ugh) cartoons.....

The tests found no "bath salts", LSD or synthetic pot: Link

Travellers I spoke to at Bangla didn't like India as much.
According to them, the Indians were less friendly and far more likely to rip one off.
That said, its not gonna deter me from putting my nose in there if I can.
