That's after 19 filipino soldiers were killed, and those captured were hacked to death defenseless after running out of bullets just 2 days ago.And yet the government is still sending folks in drips and draps to "arrest rebels". And this happens again. I pity the foot soldiers in this game of politics.

in Philippines, there are too many weapons running around and the scary thing is that the military is not the most heavily armed lot of people there..
apart from the insurgents, there are also a crapload of private militias, armies and loads of gangs...

It's the Philippines. No surprise there.
I remember the bus hostage situation they had last year.
Their SWAT team probably stands for 'Sorry, We Are Terrified'. Their 'storming' of the bus was truly comical. Heck, had they used their brains earlier, a good sniper would have taken out the tango with a headshot.
And I don't give a sh*t about what Filipino culture is like with regards to photo-taking; this still pisses me off after one full year:

a little while back, some poly mass comm student write up a feature on the slums in the phillippines and got himself onto the straits times ....
I've always said how little things can tell you a lot about a people's or a society's psyche ....
one of the things that hit me when I read that was how the busiest shops in the slums were the karaoke bars .... where people would spend what little they have to escape for a while into the fog of beer and songs and then worry about where their next meal would come afterwards .. "it's the pinoy way ... " one of the slum dwellers said ...
is it any wonder .............................

finally battle over !! suppliers came and now standby for freight collection.
Then it's KARAOKE AND BUFFET NITE (change of plan, instead of photo and cycling)... huat hah! (cycling this sunday at west 40km, now reserve more energy).
this morning the whole bloody network down.. i have to communicate via sms/msnchat with suppliers and freight pple!! i think i deserve tonight eating session!
