he was kinda livid when he went to the MP to ask if he could use his CPF to pay for his son's SIM fees and was told he could not..
That is why I find a system which dictates what you can or cannot do with your hard-earned money so disgusting.

More foreigners and locals.
On my part, I have been noticing a general decline in quality of the students over the years. I have to say that's just anecdotal evidence on my part. But I do know that my earlier students tend to request more consultation sessions, pay closer attention in class, and are less likely to do stupid things.
The PM's call to allow more locals into uni may sound great, but if that's at the cost of granting admission to yahoos, then I'm not so sure about that at all.
I think it has to be by merit
But if you think about it, a lot of the better students go overseas

Hmmm, heading to ikea later... but it'll be packed... Might have to find alternative for lunch...
I dunno what to eat for lunch :(
Well, I do notice locals in the local unis la. It's likely more of you might a little more foreigners in some courses while few in other courses.
The CPF, well, there's always ppl who would end up do not pay back to their parents CPF. But yah, can't be because of the rotten apple and everyone gets affected.

They should have a system where if the child borrows, when they work, the CPF will auto pay to their parent's CPF first :P

this just in
=> Shanmugam implies that the Singapore President is a eunuch there to do what they say
does that mean i should vote the one who will cause the biggest headache to them?

but that's not your record right? kidding!
anyway, am looking forward to Eid this year - a few open houses invites from friends
I know a bunch of people up north who supplies birds nest ... the same bunch also builds birds nest houses for people there ....
basically the birds nest scam is like the shark's fin scam .... you know almost all of the bird's nest you see on display in the sinseh tonic shops are all reconstituted stuff eh ? ... they soak the raw bird's nest to get rid of the bird shit and slime and feathers, mash up everything, and then mould them back into the shape of a nest again before drying it. Raw birds' nest is a solid, rubbery piece that is a horrifying mass of bird poo and slime on the inside and grey underneath ....
only a gourmet or a food science lab would be able to tell the difference between the "cave" nests or the "house" nests ... the "birds nests" are whatever the sellers calls it.

Then you might want Tan Jee Say.
But the way I see it, a vote for him is a vote for the SDP by proxy.
I've seen the real birds nest. It's not that clean as what we usually see it
no use
he's not even in the executive.
Come to think of it, is the judicial seperated from the executive???

red cave nests are actually just nests with iron oxide leeched into it ..... you can simulate that in a bird house too ... think rusting iron ...
the ultra rare one, and one that's so super expensive you almost never see it in ordinary sinseh shops ... most people probably haven't even heard of it ....
is the blue nest .....found only in the most ulu corners of irian jaya and the eastern ulus of indonesia ...
now that one ... I think they haven't been able to simulate yet ...
Heart for Tan Jee Say - who says "conscience and empathy".. supposedly to ignore our conscience and forget where he came from and then empathise with him for probably going to lose his deposit
Hand over your speech for Tan Kin Lian- dunno what the hell that is supposed to mean.. maybe he's stopping you from speaking? but that's pretty normal for a person whom no one cares about and is not beneath doing things for political mileage.. then failing dismally at it...
Glasses for Tony Tan - who needs them because he seems to be blind to everything around him.. or maybe it's rose-tinted ones given to him by the MIW? or those opaque ones which make him blind to the crap going on?
Fan Shape Tree for Tan Cheng Bock - kinda like the trees in front of Raffles Hotel.. or is it a symbol of colonial times? whatever it is, he's still one of the MIW.. we know no matter what he says or "goes against the party", he toed the party line eventually and that the MIW chose their candidates based on loyalty to the party above and beyond everything else, including the state...
there.. the four idiots, the four idiotic symbols...
For Acid:
Daim Cake
3 C (360g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp (1 envelope) baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 11 oz (300g) Daims
- 1/4 C (22g) ground almonds (a.k.a. powdered almonds or almond meal)
- 2 sticks (220g) unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 C (300g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 C (35 g) light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (I use vanilla paste from Trader Joe's)
- 1 C (250 ml) plain yogurt
- Confectioner's sugar (optional)
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 10-inch cake pan (I use one with a removable bottom).
Unwrap the Daims and chop them roughly with a knife, not too thinly: you want Daims chunks, not Daims powder. In a medium mixing-bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and ground almonds. In a smaller bowl, toss the chopped Daims with a tablespoon of the flour mixture.
Cream the butter in the food processor for 3 minutes. Add in the granulated sugar and mix for 2 minutes. Add in the brown sugar and mix for another minute. Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well between each addition. Add in the vanilla extract and mix again.
Add the flour mixture in three additions, alternating them with the yogurts in two additions, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Avoid overmixing the batter. Stir in the chopped Daims, and pour the batter into the cake pan, leveling the surface with a spatula.
Put into the oven to bake for 55 minutes to an hour, until the cake turns brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let rest for five minutes on a rack, unmold and return to the rack to cool completely. Dust the top with confectioner's sugar if desired --
