This goverment submitted it's report card in the last elections, and the people has graded them and signed them off. The majority passed them, though there were dissenters, and they have noted areas of particular concern and has taken the first steps towards addressing them, first by retiring what the people formerly thought to be sacred cows from senior positions in the goverment and other public institutions.
The next performance review is due in 2016, do you not think it's fair to give them time to walk the talk ? especially when the new parliament has not even convened yet ? ... or is it a case of dammed if they do, dammed if they don't ?
I say, hold the cynicism, and see what happens in the coming months, for I believe this is only the first step in a serious of changes ... the rumblings is already in the air ... now that many senior sacred cows are gone, I think we'll see some policy sacred cows slaughtered soon, as well.

I'm glad this chap's been given all the hot button portfolios ..... MND and MOM .... HDB and foreign influx .....
you can see this chap is really earnest about engaging the people .... he's even responding to obvious poh-ah-pak like trollers on his FB page ...... today's ST article's really talking about this chap ... am very impressed by the even way he answers such trollers ...
