but she's got her blades to back her up.. and will subject you to a zergling rush if you're still not happy about it
sore throat... but the pineapple tarts are yummy...
oh oh.. something came up when sis's friends visited on saturday evening...
it's about primary schools....
something very disturbing is happening in schools...
teaching is now outsourced??
her children are now told that they have to pay $120 per subject per month for some vendor to come and teach them their lessons during school hours... the teachers of the class sit behind the class and supervise everything... if the children don't want to pay the $120 per subject, they are to "stay at home"
the cost is in addition to the actual school fees
the actual teachers only do the "remedial classes" and that is only 3 weeks (or maybe days) before exams...
for those who think this is a private school, it is not.. it's a neighbourhood school...
then her children's form teacher keeps being "on MC" almost every Monday and Friday... she's a "parent volunteer" so she gets roped in to become some kind of free "relief teacher" to look after the children.. especially when there is swimming PE...
the mom subsequently got "blacklisted" as a volunteer when she complained about this as she said that a teacher has to be present during the swimming PE in case there are any accidents and children get hurt..
also, seems like the school staff is threatening the students not to report stuff.. heck! the school staff is also threatening her not to report or complain about things in the school too...
but what shocked me was the "outsourcing" of teaching... WTF???

Wat nonsense is this !?!?!?
And does MOE knows???
Serious? I know I have friends who are art teacher 'vendors' and all who do take over 'art lessons' on a project basis.. but not for aall the other subjects!
That's.. very strange hahahah
Why the heck are they doing this? Even fees for independent schools don't cost that much in all! Teachers should be teaching AND conducting remedial lessons.
I wanna be MOE teacher :D
Hygiene or Tasty Food: what is more impt to u?
There is a hawker stall near my place that sells Homemade Soon Kueh. Very yummy.
So the other day I bought it and FOUND 1..... long.. hair.... INSIDE the soon kueh. I was dismayed.
In a case like this - would you buy the soon kueh AGAIN?
The heat should hv killed whatever germs on that hair
I am ok with hair but if it's cockroach or lizard than no way man!!!!
And WTF???? Outsourced teaching? Which primary school is that??? I certainly won't want to send my cub there!

Agreed and phew :D
that's why I'm eating soon kueh right now again!
Was a bit concerned that my gluttony is overcoming my common sense.

She should report the school to the authorities anyway for the sake of other parents and children, especially the less well-off ones. This cannot go on!

Maybe the school decided to join the tuition centre sideline..
".afterall, parents giving $120 per subject to tuition teachers.. might as well give to us..."

Nevermind that. Today's ST features one RP student whose mother was singlehandedly raising him and 2 siblings on $500 a month. Now he's getting an extra $90 a month through an aid scheme.
Ordinary Singaporeans would say that his mother probably didn't study or work hard enough or whatever if they believe in "meritocracy", but does it have to be this way?
meritocracy does not mean the abandonment of basic humanity...
but i guess the MIW don't want to hear of it... considering Lau Lee led by example by abandoning his humanity to become a bleached zombie
thought i read somewhere about getting foreign talents teach languages..
so the students will learn the "correct" to study that lanugage? say the mother tongue..
geesh, i probably be negative, are they really here to teach or a good channel to moonlight here...
