my folks are getting hyper paranoid cos yesterday night while I was out a bunch of ah tiongs from the nearby construction site turned up and loitered up and down the streets, rumaging through the rubbish bins and eyeing every house ......
patches has been deployed on rescheduled patrol timings by adjusting her feeding times, and every bolt, lock and latch, both front and back, are to be locked at all times .......

after buying my macbookpro, i wonder if the mess in comex is actually worth it?i bought the thing at the standard price and they gave me a pile of stuff i've not really used.. a laptop cooler, compact speakers and the keyboard skin... the cost of all that is about $70 but the laptop cooler is being used.. sort of.. the skin is thrown away and the compact speakers are not even out of the packing

The last time I ever bought anything at one of these fairs was in March last year.
That was only because I was buying a Nikon D60 and a 3.5-inch external HDD. I tell you, just trying to get out of that hellhole with all my bags was an epic struggle.
I'll never step into these moshpits again unless if I absolutely have to.

Some prick at the fair last year kept pushing and shoving, so I gave one hard shove that sent him tumbling into a booth.
What an arse.

however, not the computer stuff but sometimes the tvs are worth the mess..
i remember a fair (not comex) last year which was not so crowded, zora and i saw this guy flogging a 42" plasma for $700.. limited to 5 pieces.. he'd go yell through the mic every hour and see if anyone wanted to buy.. surprisingly, the reaction was pretty muted..

I have never seen any police patrols around before .......
unlike fatumnette's estate, you see police cruisers very often ..... but that's lau goh's territory, he takes care of his own.
my mom went out to confront those ah tiongs and they scattered ..... only to regroup and come slinking back later in the night .....
it's quite disconcerting I must admit, to have groups of ah tiongs squatting by the pavement smoking cigarettes, rooting around the garbage bins and eyeing all the houses .....
then there are those banglas that hang by the fences to sian the maids .... but those are only amusing ...

if they congregate again, just quietly call the cops..once the cops come, they will scatter.. the cops when they see such things, will automatically come more often...

I think if you call them, they will arrange for patrols.If they don't - u know what to do!
My mom's place is at Jalan Kayu... Once my neighbour's house almost got robbed, I saw a couple of guys sneak to the back of their house (it's corner house next to some shrubs). We shouted at the guys to scare them, and quickly notified the neighbour who turned on all the lights.Her hubby was overseas, leaving only just her and a baby in this huge 3 story house.
After we informed the police, they tried to patrol a lot more often. Ok la.. these police a lot of them seem very young kids, but I think it still acts as a warning sign.

i would try out things like triangle chokeholds, armbars, kneebars, anklelocks... or more idiotic things like the scorpion deathlock, texas cloverleaf.. ahahahaha
