We both thought that HDB had farmed out the tender to the lowest-bidding company..... guess we were right.....
It really speaks a lot when my 30-year-old estate seems to be much better maintained than that 5-year-old estate.
And it's not just the paint, really.... a lot of the void decks were dingy, quite a few tiles were cracked, and believe it or not, I saw one or two flats which has rooms that were situated right over the dumpster.
you're in marine parade, right? that place is really nice.

no one has actually complained to the authorities or something? i mean it's really pitiful for a kid to grow up in such an abusive home.

I mean, my neighbourhood (clementi) used to be a pretty nice place. I literally grew up there. Now its become an overcrowded and sleazy third world shithole!!! :P
The FS and I went to Punggol with an open mind..... we weren't expecting large, condo-like flats with awesome amenities and sea view or anything like that, but thinking that it was new, we at least expected some reasonable, decent flats.....
What we saw completely shocked us. No kidding. Whatever happened to good architectural and engineering practices like building in a north-south orientation, using good-quality building materials and avoiding crazy angles where possible is beyond me....
I think it's really dumb to have a living room getting the full force of the afternoon sun, while the laundry-drying area gets no sun at all. And I think that peeling paint and cracked tiles in a new housing estate are downright unacceptable, and I don't see why anyone would want to literally live above a dumpster.
We're both East-bred, and ideally we're thinking of either Simei or Pasir Ris.... at least they're still relatively recent (late 80s - early 90s) with none of the stupid 'innovations' of Punggol....

u never take a broom and give back some noise to them?
like poke the ceiling and tell them to shut up
have u seen the neighbours upstairs?
i have seen the pua cb one downstairs.
some fat f*ck with a fat f*ck wife with dunno how many daughters and a pampered youngest son.
when i was doing renovations, they came to complain, say they cannot sleep
bloody hell they should be going to exercise their fat a$$e$ instead of sleeping
*filters out house talk since won't be able to get one any time soon*

you should start planning dude, else you'd be caught short-footed when the time comes ...
oh yah, speaking of bloody neighbours, the open air karaoke singers got shut down at around 10.30pm last night .... I think the noise was just too great that the mata stepped in before 11 .... there were cars parked illegally on the main road too, blocking an entire lane ....

some neighbours made police reports in the past but nothing came out of it. thin line between old-school discipline and outright abuse. :P
i will avoid the new flats
overpriced and too small
badly designed too
I just made an enquiry from an agent - a 520K valuation 4 room flat at clementi asking COV 60k.
Working out the maths, we need to fork out near to 100k before we even stay in the flat. This exclude furniture
aaaaaaaaah! i want this!
* drives in..

Why is it that the students don't realize that they can't really ask for my help with their assignments before they hand it in?
If they were asking about the concepts in the abstract, then that's fine with me, but not the assignment in particular..... after all, it's meant to be graded.....

I like Simei, the floor plan is very logical
I think the worse are Sembawang flats. Odd shape with lots of corners -_-"
