with 5 million and counting souls on a tiny red dot, there won't be any uncrowded places left in singapore anymore, unless you camp inside the catchment reserve.

clementi is really horrible now.
actually, I think all estates degenerate after maturity.

I like the one at selegie, cheap and is most likely the most empty of all steamboats Located along the row of pubs (Liquid Gold and Plasma)
Liang Seah street does have it's "xian de lai" but kinda pricey and it's mostly packed... Parklane (as in the noodle shop) does have a steamboat place in Liang Seah but it's very small, they do have porridge steamboat and this cute fishcake which looks like a pig's face...
Clementi has one near sunset place where there's both grill, sashimi and steamboat (IF i nv remember wrongly) but it's always full packed and the service is horrible due to the fact it's really too packed >__> I think AV can provide more info on this...
I just went to try this Jap grill BBQ at chinatown for like 22 or 24 per pax... Food was ok ok only, problem is, they ran out of beef after 1 plates... -____- so we stuffed outselves with pork instead... However they do serve sanma (Mackeral Pike known for it's fishy smell, some like it, some hate it) ,shishamo, whole small sotong for grill...
Ultimately the best (IMO) is still the daidomon with the old price list... but alas, the price revision now made it very un attractive...
Wishlist for BBQ Grill: There's a korean BBQ in east coast which I heard quite good... Haven go try it yet though...

you can go and try the korean bbq at liang seah street called arirang .. quite nice and its not expensive

Practically all the HDB housing estates are packed. Perhaps only the Holland Road and Dover ones are not as bad as most of the others, from what I can recall. As for malls, OC, Tanglin Mall and Milenia Walk have the most shoulder and elbow room, and I like them the most.

yah! I want to go back and eat there again!
I like Simei. Convenient and not too crowded though it is more crowded now
The funny thing is that my colleague stays in Tampines and he comes over to Simei to show because it is not so crowded….go figure.
Other place I love is East Coast Road but can’t afford to own a place there unless I tio TOTO

I love Tanglin Mall.

yeah sadly. We don't even need that many people too. Or rather I think we need better quality and not go for quantity.
over-crowding doesn't make for a nice home.

Ahhh Tanglin Mall... Home to the pub "Anywhere" and the fabulous authentic jap resturant "Nirai Kanai"...
The resturant mostly have japs as customer and both the head chef and boss are japanese from Okinawa... But their speciality dish is "Fried bittergourd" ... I also like their working Tshirt... I still have 1 somewhere but I lost it when I moved house...

Maybe organise outing???
Btw, I've heard of losing stationary and mouse in office... but this is the first time I heard: my boss de boss lost a 5port switch
does losing work count as an unsual item lost at work?

holland and dover ? not for much longer .....
dover's headed for redevelopment, the commonwealth flats would be going going gone soon, and the mcdonald's side are going to see new high rises sprouting up.

i like OC too - away from the madness of ION and taka
The only thing I like about ION is TWG
The only thing I like about Taka is Kino
I must be getting old .... I find myself preferring the beach to the shopping malls nowadays .......
I rather stay at home to watch TV
I don’t like the beach coz most of the time the ocean breeze stinks
And I don’t like the sun either because it gives me freckles
I do however enjoy going to Coffee Club outside Borders for breakfast on a Sunday morning than head over to Borders than Kino
If I don’t do that it’s basically cleaning up after my pets and they do give me lots of joy btw
The ironical thing between MPB and me is that he is the outdoorsy type who loves all the outdoor stuff whereas to me the sun is my enemy and I rather get myself lost in some game.
In a way it kind of work out because both of us like our own space so when he is out male bonding with fellow ‘hunters’, I get my quiet time so I don’t lose my sanity.
the ironic thing is, susie's as outdoorsy as I am .....
but I loathe to take her to the more ulu places cos I worry for her, what's with all the mozzies, mud, dirty, lack of toilets etc ....
The ironic thing is that most females have issues handling dirty filter media covered with fish poo but if you ask me to go through mud and dirty toilets I can’t bring myself to do that. I have no issues grabbing tubifax worms with my bare fingers but roughing out is a no no. Go figure.
ahahahahahahahahaha, that's the thing ! .....
she's backpacked across many cities alone before, and had encounters from north american ghettos that turns me pale ..... she's tells me about places in vancouver she's went to whom vancouverites specifically tells me never to venture into .....
but she's never camped outdoors in her life before .... even when she was trekking in nepal, she slept in a lodge each night .... go figure ...

if she's so outdoorsy, I'm sure she can take the accompanying dirt, mozzies and such? I don't know what other kinds of outdoor there are *shrug*
