Even then the water's no Cayo Largo... the sea water in Singapore has far too much sediment.

Matter of personal taste I suppose....but I like the certain "uluness" of Pasir Ris and its peacefulness.
At E Coast, you stare at the ones that cause oil spills.

who knows, he might actually improve if the old man dies soon enough and he gets to do his own thing.
he might divorce his husband immediately!!

that's only true up to a point, it depends on the season, like during the monsoon, the water gets loaded with run-offs from the storm drains and the big sumatra rivers.
But during the dry season, Singapore's waters can be pretty clear in parts, I've had 15 metre vis while diving locally, that's basically tioman standards.

opposite the Jade and Prince cinemas near Bugis?
the only thing i don't like about the east coast, is the massive, massive crowds every weekend at the beach.
but go on a weekday night or sunday night on a non-school holiday week, and it's so quiet and peaceful.

The clearest water is off Tanah Merah Ferry Ter, near Changi Naval Base side...can see groupers and assorted fishes swimming there, and the occasional dolphins.

It's quiet and comfy with none of the hustle and bustle of other estates like, say, Tampines.
About the only downside that Marine Parade has is that there are no good MRT connections. The nearest MRT is at Eunos, which is like.... 20 minutes away by bus.
It says a lot that I actually take the bus all the way down to City Hall MRT when I go to school each morning. Because it takes virtually just as long, and the train is no longer packed by the time it reaches City Hall.
yup, that's the thing .. either that, or bedok interchange ........

Pasir Ris Beach is better than E Coast now in the weekdays bcos the monsoon winds are blowing onshore constantly at this time of the year....its like putting your face in the aircon. And Pasir Ris beach is still more deserted weekdays or weekends.

that's only at the beach la
i never had a thing for nice views and be willing to pay more just to get those sea view etc.. cause none of it is compared to what i've seen in other countries..i guess i can save some money that way..
and now labrador park is going to be over-run soon too, when the MRT comes up .....
I remember the days when you can fish overnight there and you'd not see another soul except one or two lost ones from WWII or the occasional patrol car
