Reading a book in China. It says something abt cardboard's r/s w/ Myanmar. It says cardboard's Yunnan uses Yangon port to export out it's goods. But I thought cargo from Yangon gotta be t/s via Singapore and it cannot be bound for the West (sanctions)?
The book says cardboard might not be able to become a big power after all due to some reasons

not too sure about that but if you think about it, its pretty scary that we're dependent on china for most of the world's manufacturing.

this seems the same moral of the story as what was written in the book Cityboy - Beer and Loathing in the Square Mile
everyone goes for the quick profit, screw everything else.. no one really knows what is going on as long as there is a quick profit to be made, and no one cares...
the long term effect is pushed away as they wallow in their profits and bonuses..

I remembered how influential the biz powerful ppl can be in politics
The US wanted to clean up e financial system way before the mess for accountability.. But the heavyweights were against it cos of 'hurting' their profits.

ahh.. i tend not to look at the chap huey tiam things as i don't like squeezing into them..
but i like the "medical halls" near my office..
i get stuff like hair gel for $7.50 which in supermarkets go for $10.90, neutrogena facial wash for $7.50 which go for $11.90 in Giant, shampoo for $23.50 when in most places go for nearly $30...
they sell other crap too.. like honey which goes for about $4 which same brand at supermarket goes for $6
don't know how they get these prices, even when they are parallel imports..
Maybe I believe why Tungku wanted Singapore to leave
He probably knew PAP would be successful cos of their meritocracy policy and he believed it's best if Singapore would leave. Else the UMNO would be out of govt in no time ba?
