Ya and its so noisy in cafe/restaurants too ..
I like the new library .. I go upstairs to study and do research before .. Its relatively quiet. You do see kids go there surf net, and not doing work but they're not being noisy, so its okay.. I see adults who pretend to read but they're actually there to enjoy the aircon and take naps ..
I like it because its very bright and the big glass panels provide good view ..
I only go to fast food joints to read.
Been doing that most often now.
Come to think of it. The last time I actually did any studying, was when I was taking the certs from SHRI. And the only studying I did, was before the exams. roughly four hours before. SHRI thankfully was at the new tekka mall, got some eatery that is fairly quiet and got tables chairs and aircon.
As it turns out, I think I was reaching into that kinda of mindset, that as long as you pay attention in class, you only need revising to get your exam question points correct.
And yah, the library is full of chatting adults or teenagers.

B1 and 2 is for general fiction books ..
upstairs all research ..
i went downstairs once for a quick look .. didn't find it noisy ..
I remember my Secondary days, where we pay $5/- for CC membership and uses their study room. Got aircon and ppl don't talk there.
Afterall, people pay money to study there. Who dares to talk and disrupt others.
Maybe the library should consider such a move.
Last week, some malay kids was gathered on the floor, 1 girl 4 guys. And they have laptop plugged in, some books on the floor, when actually they were chatting.
Finally, a librarian with tudang walked to them to tell them to keep quiet.
After librarin walk away, the girl was making a risque remark about the librarian and the boys giggled.
They then continue chatting.
Its only after a while, when some of the boys maybe felt tired about chatting, and then start focusing on getting some books to read, then they quiet down. But can see the girl is figeting and trying to start up another group conversation.

If we are talking about general library. Its not as noisy, but the students all went to plonk their bags and books all over the sofas, so they themselves occupy the whole row of sofa for their studying or disappearing act.

Madame, I thank you for your offer.
1) I do not mind helping with the packing for lunch.
2) I planning to leave Sg for a while, or even earlier, to get out, so I doubt I can be around for Nov-Dec.
