When I was there, it was relatively unknown. From what I gathered, it getting a bit too commercialized. 2 other places in the vicinity - Tanjung Jara and Pulau Perhentian are better. I'll pick the latter if I were you. Less crowded, polution, clearer waters. The former is for honeymoon - similar atmosphere as Mauritius.

food on the island is very bad... snorkelling is ok. I think Tanjung Jara Resort is much much better.
LF, myself and another friend is planning something for Good Friday weekend, she will update you guys... it's a foodie trip to some small towns in Malaysia...

Plan is we'll reach butterworth at 2145 and we'll cross over to Georgetown to rest on the 25th. Then we'll go around the island.....and then cross back to mainland on 29th to take the train back. -

Most probably motel and public transport. -
Renting a car is probably best tho driving in Pg is an acquired skill. Public transpot esp buses are spotty.

I do have relatives there at butterworth, but they already have their hands full. So, at the most, I'll drop by that's all. -

That was initially the plan....to drop by Melacca and KL, unfortunately we figured 5 days is too little time...considering 2 of the days will be spent on the train.My friends even wanted to see Kedah, but I guess that too has to wait.
